SPELLBINDERS BANNER DIE

The banner itself is over 4 feet long, so it was very difficult to find an empty wall to photograph it on...plus to get close enough to see some detail....so there are three shots of the bugger banner pieces and the rest you will have to see at PICTURE THIS in EAU CLAIRE!

Materials:
Paper: October Afternoon paper pad (only a few left at the store!!)
     Paper Cut cardstock
Sizzix Alterations: Reindeer and Rosette Dies
Spellbinders: Circle, Banner and Lacey Banner die
Ribbon: May Arts
Stamp: INKADINKADOO
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink "FESTIVE BERRIES"

I used the ink from the new Winter Seasonal Series Limited Edition Distress inks from Tim Holtz....pretty colors!  This banner will hang on the mantle at the store for a while and then it is coming home so I can use to to decorate with it at my house!

Happy Thanksgiving

I made a quick, last minute turkey decoration for the table.....here is the TIM version that inspired it.  I loved them when I clicked onto his blog so I just had to create me one.

Materials:
Paper: Graphic45 and Paper Cut cardstock
Tim Holtz Adage Tickets.
Sizzix Alterations Rosette dies (both sizes)
Tim Holtz  Memo Pins
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink "gathered twigs" and "fired brick"

I hand cut the turkey head or you can download and print the design Tim has on his blog.  The turkey's are not very big, but would  make a cute place card holder if you had a few minutes this morning to work on it....or if you are not having your party until later in the weekend....like AFTER all this crazy Black Friday stuff! The tokens that the turkey is standing on are from the Buffet Table at the store.....you can get numbers or the shapes seen here.  These have nothing to do with the design, but I thought I would mention it in case you wondered :)  Check out PICTURE THIS tomorrow morning for great Black Friday sales!!

FAB 5 Day 5

We are working with FLOWER SOFT today.
I used a little bit of the POLAR WHITE on the snowy areas of the branches in the picture.  I have other cards from Graphic45 using the FLOWER SOFT to accent particular areas on the images and it adds a nice touch to the finished project.

Materials:
     Paper: Graphic45 Christmas Past
     Paper Cut Metallic Cardstock
     Paper Cut cardstock
Punch: EKSuccess
FLOWER SOFT: Polar White

A really simple way to add some pow to a card is to add a little FLOWER SOFT to it.  The images on this particular piece of paper are perfect for doing just that.  Each panel is a different image so you can create a card around each one.

FAB 5 Day 4

Using SIZZIX ALTERATIONS ROSETTE DIES (both sizes) I made this little forest of Christmas trees for the BUSY ELVES EXTRAVAGANZA..what fun this was!!

Materials:
Paper: ECHO PARK, Graphic45, Bo-Bunny and My Mind's Eye
     Glitter paper (champagne)
Sizzix Alterations ROSETTE dies
Spellbinders "Star" die
Clay pots, wood shavings, wooden skewers and hot glue gun

This could not be simpler....time consuming...but worth it in the end.  I started by cutting out the three sizes of rosette for each tree I wanted to complete.  I accordion folded each layer and then attached each end to its other end.  Once I had them all to that point I got out the hot glue gun and started layering with the widest one the bottom, followed by the middle size and ending with the small one just above that.  Top it with the star and you've got a fun little tree!  You could decorate your tree with stickles, glitter, brads or gems to make it more festive.  Have fun and enjoy the projects the others have put together.

FAB 5 Day 3

 I MOOSE you.......
Merry Christmoose........

Ok, so I don't have those stamps....but how cute would that be with this acetate panel from the Susan Louise Designs collection?  Susan Louise is a Wisconsin artist who creates these wonderful images by hand and then has them transfered to acetate for use on cards or pages!  We discovered her product at CHA this summer (the craft and hobby show we go to in Chicago)...and we fell in love with the beautiful images she creates.  We are go glad too that she is a "local" artist.

Materials:
     Paper: Authentique Christmas
     Paper Cut and WorldWin cardstocks
Stamps: Inkadinkadoo
Brads: Making Memories
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink "Black Soot" and "Fired Brick"
Cuttlebug folder from the Christmas bundle (Tartan plaid)
Spellbinders: Labels and Tags

FAB 5 Day 2

Today we worked with Spellbinders, but in reality, when don't we work with SPELLBINDERS??...lol

Materials:
Paper: Paper Cut cardstock and vellum
SEI patterned paper (it is a metallic shimmer with a design on it)
Spellbinders: Lotus, Bird Cage, Fancy Labels, and Foliage
Cuttlebug: Chrysanthemum Die, Snowflake die and a swirl folder from a set I forget

I put the band around the box with simple strips of paper and then layered all kinds of monochromatic designs to make up the 3D effect.  Could be used for wedding favors too if you were so inclined!

FAB 5 Day 1

We are kicking off another week of
FAB 5 projects
are you ready??

Today we start with the JUDITH line of stamps....I used the Snowflake Stubby in this one, the other stamps are Stampers Anonymous and InkaDinkaDo.

Materials:
Paper: WorldWin and PAper Cut cardstock
Stamps: JUDITH, Stampers Anonymous (music notes) and InkaDinkaDo (Merry Christmas)
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Inks "Vintage Photo", "Black Soot", "Barn Door" and "Pine Needles"
Die: Sizzix Alterations Reindeer Flight

I wanted to try something a little different for our BUSY ELVES EXTRAVAGANZA so I went simple.  Sometimes you just want to send out a flat, unembellished card that is easy to mail.....well, here it is  No bumps at all.  I tore a chunk out of the middle of clean piece of paper to make my "oval" mask for the middle.  I used the negative left from cutting out a reindeer to make a mask to the stamp and then after stamping in the music notes I used a sponge with some brown to "fill in" the deer with color.  Then I stamped on my snowflakes and sentiment.

You are my sunshine

I did a quick page sample for the store using some fun decorative papers and a PAZZLEs cut title.  This sample and the materials to create it can be found at Picture This in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

PAZZLES die cut titles at Picture This

What an easy way to add a title to your page.  Let PICTURE THIS do the work.  You think of the title and pick the colors and they can cut it, usually while you wait.  How easy is that?

Materials:
     Paper: Paper Cut cardstock
     October Afternoon paper
     Simple Stories
Custom Die Cut
Brads: Making Memories

Since the paper had a great design already on it, why compete with that?  I took my photos and a simple
title to create this one page layout.  I hand cut the scallop tag in the middle and used my scissors to create a flag end on the patterned paper from October Afternoon.  A simple hand made embellishment.
