I Believe

Kind of a repeat from yesterday, but in a different format.  I could not decide which way to do the strips and how big the tree should be so I did both.  Why waste a perfectly cut piece of paper right?

Details are below for paper....the only addition to this one is the gems are from KAISER CRAFT and the stamp is JUST RITE

Stay tuned to this blog and the store blog for the FAB 5 return
next week

Happy Fall

Not that I want to usher fall in just yet, but, it is here, like it or not.
Materials:
Paper: WorldWin and Paper Cut cardstock
     Bella Blvd "At The Patch"
     My Mind's Eye (tag)
Star embossing folder "The Paper Company"
Button: Epiphany Crafts (button and epoxy)
Burlap
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink "Walnut Stain"
Stamp: JUST RITES (individual letters)
Spellbinders: Standard Circle, large and small and Pennant dies

I have been seeing a lot of burlap out there in the blogland and I happened to have a chunk of burlap laying around here to play with.  You would think that living on a farm like I do we would have lots of burlap available, but they don't use burlap for much of anything anymore....the twine isn't even made with natural fibers anymore....it's all plastic. I used my Spellbinders to cut the circles and it worked wonderfully.  The ribbon across the middle is made with the back side of the tree paper and is just paper folded and laid out with double sided tape.

Christmas Snowman

Such fun papers!  Cosmo Cricket has these super fun papers we have in our Christmas Section at  the store....you have to see them.

Materials:
Paper: Cosmo Cricket: Dear Mr. Claus "Yes, Virginia" and "Thumpity Thump Thump"
     WeR Memory Keepers "Family" line
     WorldWin Cardstock
Twine: The Twinery "Maraschino"

Basic paper is all that I used here with a little pop of twine to pull it all together.  If I could manage to sew I would have added a little stitching around the edge of the "Merry Christmas" piece, but I can't sew...nor can I use a machine....so there it is.  I do love the two papers from Cosmo I used, they have several repeat images of the santa and snowman to make several cards of the same design.

what?

I know you are wondering why I am taking a picture of the wall of my youngest sons room...well, we have been working on cutting vinyl out at the store and I was making some custom stuff with the vinyl I purchased and decided to make a vinyl of my sons current favorite music group.  I found a font in the computer that was close to what the album cover looked like and did a little tweeking and came up with this.
We have done custom vinyls at the store for living rooms, kitchens, hallways and even car windows.  Of course, all of the vinyls I have done end up in other peoples homes, so I never get to see the end result.

If you ever need a custom vinyl for your home, check out our collection of fonts we have at PICTURE THIS and we'll see what we can come up with for you....and I will try and get some other photos of the finished vinyls on the walls for a future post. I will probably be adding musical group names to this wall too....so stay tuned for updates.

Happy Birthday

I was able to create AGAIN!  Can you believe it?

Materials:
My Mind's Eye: Union Square "Perfect" Damask Print Paper
     Paper Cut cardstock
Stamp: JUST RITES
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink "Walnut Stain"
Pearls: Want2Scrap
Spellbinders: Pennant Die

Walking around the store last week I found this pretty piece of paper back in the My Mind's Eye section.  They have so many pretty papers in their collections and they are, for the most part, double sided.  I love using double sided papers for a quick and easy way to coordinate a paper.  All I really needed to do here was find a brown that worked with the rich color in the damask design.  I added the pearls to the card front for a bit of added pizzazz.  We have a ton of new bling in the store...pearls and gems, swirls and designs, straight lines and curvy lines, pinks, brown, silvers, black and other great colors to choose from. Check them out when you stop by to see the inside of this card.

HELLO

I got my toys out again today...yay for me.  I bought a new die from My Favorite Things (the Fish Tail Banner die) and I was not going to let a day get away from me again.

Materials:
Paper: My Mind's Eye: Lost & Found; Portobello Road "Buddies" flannel paper
     WorldWin Cardstock
My Favorite Things Fish Tail Banner die
Spellbinders Scallop Circle and Circle die.
Stickers: Authentique "Petite Type Circle"

The circle stickers from Authentique worked fabulously with this paper and theme.  They were just the right size for the little circles in the middle of the die.

Punch Art

So today I am doing a class with punches as the focus.  Everything above it cut using a punch, including the squares.

Paper: My Mind's Eye and Bo-Bunny
    Kraft cardstock: Paper Cut
Punches: Leaf and Butterflies: Martha Stewart
               Circle Scallop: Giga Punch
               Square Punch: Paper Shapers
Pearls: Want2Scrap

It is as simple as finding some coordinating papers and you favorite punches.  Hearts, circles, squares...whatever....and you can arrange it randomly or symmetrically.  Birthday, Christmas, Thanksgiving, Halloween...Give it a try.

Wedding card

I had some leftover materials laying around my house.....I have lots, so this isn't a surprise.....so I made this wedding card with some of the bits.

Materials:
     Paper: Paper Cut Metallic cardstock
     Paper Cut cardstock
     WOW glitter paper "Silver"
Bling: Kaiser Craft
Sticker: Pebbles
Spellbinders: Fancy Tags 3
Cuttlebug folder: Dots

I liked the look of the red and silver together and thought the fancy label would be perfect for a spot to place my sticker.  The cut out on the side of the tag are from the insides of the label turned sideways.
