Stars & Stripes Forever

Nothing like the old Red, White and Blue.  These papers from My Mind's Eye caught my eye when they came in but it took me until yesterday to make the purchase and do some crafting.  Nothing like waiting until the last minute right?

Materials:
Paper: My Mind's Eye "American Made" Petticoat Plaid and Words of Devotion
     Paper Cut Cardstock
My Mind's Eye Die Cut sheet
Gems: HERO ARTS and Kaiser Craft
Ribbon: May Arts
Tulle
Corner Rounder
Pop-dots

You might not see the little ruffle of tulle along the bottom edge of the die cut shape, but it's there.  With all that is going on with the paper, I kept the card simple.  I have a house full of Americana style goods and this card goes right along with it.  It will become part of my "art collection".  And for those who do know me...they know my youngest sons birthday is going to be here soon too.  Sounds like the boys are going to be in the 4th of July parade this year...so photos and pages to come!

New toys!

Another new toy for my collection.  One more CUTTLEBUG All-In-One kit to add to the one I got last month.

Materials:
     Paper:  3Bugs in a Rug
Brads: Lil Davis
Stamp: A*Muse
Ink: Momento  Tuxedo Black
Spellbinders: Floral Motifs

I went pretty simple with this...a green dot patterned paper for the embossing (with my newest toy) and the birdie images from the opposite side!  Add the stamp and a few other embellishments.

One of those days....

Take note of the greeting on the top photo! Oops.....looked right when I put it on the acrylic block....lol.  Sigh...of course, I added the sentiment as the VERY last thing and then I goofed it up!
But, I fixed it, and all is well.  Only one little piece of pink plaid was wasted in the whole process.

Materials:
Paper: Pink Paislee "HomeTown Summer" Sunnyside Lane
Sassafrass Lass "Anthem" Wall of Fame
Graphic45 "Playtimes Past" Mary, Mary Quite Contrary
Sticker: Crate Paper
Chipboard
Tickets: Maya Road and Jenni Bowlin
Stamp: JUST RITE
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink "Black Soot" and "Antique Linen"
Spellbinders: Lacey Circle and Floral Motifs
Pop-dots

I was trying to do some layering today, something a bit different from what I usually do.  I do like the chipboard cut outs even if the little parts didn't come out like they should have. You need to check out the papers that I used here....they are super fun for doing a layering project.  Lots of little "this and that's" to cut out with your handy dandy scissors! Just, don't use the wrong sentiment when you get done...lol!

Soar, spread your wings and fly

Some patterned paper, a die cut kite and a pre made die cut make for an easy card.

Materials:
Paper: Fancy Pants and Jillibean Soup
DieNamics die (kite)
Die Cut: My Mind's Eye
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink: "Spiced Marmalade"
Stickles: Stardust

With a few pop-dots and well placed stickles....you can make a die cut into something special.  Isn't the die from DIE-NAMICS just the cutest thing?

Country Bling

I'm a little bit country and a little bit ROCK and roll.

Materials:
     Paper: Simple Stories
     Paper Cut cardstock
Buttons: Basic Grey
Spellbinders: Pennant and Floral Doily Accent
Bling: Prima
Stamp: JUST RITE
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink "Barn Door"

I love the cute country look of this paper line from Simple Stories and had to use them.  The paper flowers are created using the Spellbinders die with a little folding to give them some dimension.   The bling is from a collection of large Prima crystals that I was given by my buddy Tina F. when we had our PRIMA class a few years ago.....yes, they have lasted that long.  I just cut a small swirl off for the edge.

Hello Hello Hello

A little vintage goodness using some of the new Jenni Bowlin papers, a HERO ARTS stamp and some other goodies

Materials:
     Paper: Jenni Bowlin and Graphic45
     Paper Cut cardstock
StamP: HERO ARTS and JUST RITE
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink "Black Soot" and "Vintage Photo"

I cut a little piece of paper for my typewriter image so I could add my own little message with the Just Rite stamps.

Recycled cards?

How about recycling plastic bags to make a card?  I used a plastic grocery bag and my Tim Holtz Distress Flower die to create this cool flower for the focal point of the card.  Once I had my pieces layered on the brad I used a candle to curl the edges of the flowers to make them a little more random and....well....not flat!

Materials:
     Paper: Paper Cut cardstock
     Jillibean Soup patterned paper
Brad: Making Memories
Stamp: Just Rite
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink "Barn Door", "Peeled Paint"  and "Mustard Seed"
Spellbinders: Foliage, Sunflower 1, Standard Circle and Circle Scallop
Ribbon: May Arts
Sizzix Alterations Die: Distress Flowers

Since plastic grocery bags tend to come in rather bright colors or white, I had to find the perfect paper for a bright yellow flower!  The Watermelon Gazpacho Soup was just the ticket.  The summery colors just spoke to me on this one.

I am still forced to take photos of the cards in low resolution because I am fast running out of room on the blog...I may have to make the painful move to another blog before too long.

Track & Field

Another page for the graduation book.....this years Sectional photos.

Materials:
     Paper: Stamping Station Custom papers
Picture This Overlay
Stickers: Scrappin' Sports & More
Brads: Making Memories

I used the new die cut I created at the store for the basis of this layout.  I added a different background paper to the overlay (instead of the white cardstock it comes with) for another detail to the page.  I used the Scrappin' Sports & More sticker to frame his finish.

Vintage at its best

The paper with the house on it just spoke to me as soon as I found it walking around the store Friday. I made a card as soon as I got home......but I just got around to posting it today.

Materials:
Paper: Graphic45, Crate Paper and Jenni Bowlin
     Paper Cut cardstock
Bingo Calendar pieces: Maya Road (on our Buffet Bar table)
Pin: Tim Holtz
Stickles: Distress Stickles "Fired Brick"
Gems: HERO ARTS
SIZZIX: Filmstrip die
Pop-dots

The Jenni Bowlin paper I used here is a collage of a paper line on one sheet but smaller!  Love it.  I used the house image and cut my car from the Graphic45 paper and then added the other fun elements to finish it off.

Father's Day

I was working with some papers from Scrappin' Sports & More yesterday and created this little card for my hubby for Father's Day.

Materials:
Paper: Scrappin' Sports & More "Hunting"
     Paper Cut cardstock
 Tree: Jolee's
Sign: Karen Foster
Brads: from our Buffet Bar of individual brads

An easy card that works for my hubby perfectly!  I centered the deer brads over the target sights and put the tree and sign in to finish it off.

Father's Day

With Father's Day upon us, I thought I should get my cards posted.  I made this one using the Graphic45 Transatlantique Collection.

Materials:
Paper: Graphic45 Transatlantique Collection: "Meet Me in St. Louis"
     Cardstock: Bazzill and WorldWin
Eyelets: Making Memories
Spellbinders: Labels 1
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink "Chipped Sapphire" and "Barn Red"
Stamp: Just Rite

Used just one patterned paper on this one.  Both sides!  The whole front of  the sheet had the blueprints for planes, so I picked on that fit my card size (which happened to fit my envelope which was one I had laying around!).  The little stamps across the bottom left are cut from the back of the sheet. The sentiment on the top is using a Spellbinders die to cover up a piece from the rest of the papers design that just didn't look right when cut out.  Who says you can't make things work??

     Paper Cut cardstock
     My Mind's Eye patterned paper
Tag: Cuttlebug

Hemp Twine

A simple card using one of the panels from the medley sheet.  You can make a lot of guy cards with these!

Thanks A bunch!

Another card for my collection.

Materials:
     Paper: Jillibean Soup
     Paper Cut cardstock
Ribbon: Creative Imaginations
Sticker: SRM
Sizzix Alterations die for the tab edge

I had a challenge posed to me for using the Sizzix Edger dies in my Cuttlebug...someone said it couldn't be done....I said...it could (it has to because I already owned 4 of them!!)....but here is a new example of a die that went through my Cuttlebug, no extra accessories needed (like in other machines) and only a piece of removable tape to hold it in place.  COOL BEANS.

Happy Father's Day

I got to play with my Die-namics die today..love that tree!!

Materials:
Paper: My Mind's Eye and Pink Paislee (Hometown Summer)
Ribbon: May Arts
Stamp: JUST RITE
Spellbinders: Standard Circle
INK: Tim Holtz Distress Ink "Walnut Stain" and "Peeled Paint"

You may notice the "helper" I had in the background of the bottom photo....Number 2 (yes, that is his name) is hanging around the photo area...lol.  Simple circles make up the leafy tree area to go along with the Die-namics trunk.

Conference run

I decided to do a page from this year instead of going way back.....a page done is still a page I don't have to do later!!

Materials:
Paper: MOXXIE, Crate Paper and October Afternoon
Stickers: Moxxie and Basic Grey (alphabet)
Tickets: from the Buffet Bar :)
Acrylic arrow....cut with packaging using an old die set

I blurred out the faces of the other kids and the school names, just so you don't wonder what's wrong with my camera....hehe.  A basic page covering the track season for 2011.

Vacation again

This is the backside of yesterdays page.  Since it will be in the book with this side showing, you have to decorate!  And, since the "cards" are double sided, I just went with the design that was laid out and picked photos from the next stage of the trip.....to keep things in sequence.

Materials:
     Paper: Simple Stories: "Destinations"
Stickers: Simple Stories and Crate Paper

My journaling in the top left corner is from the small journal I kept on our trip so I could remember little details about our days...like the temp....keeping those little details make it easier to journal later.  I had details like what we ate at the restaurants too.

Vacation photos

Another Grand Canyon/Las Vegas trip page

Materials:
     Paper: Simple Stories "Destinations"
Stickers: Simple Stories.

I just used the new papers and stickers from Simple Stories on this one, easy.  Love the "cards" that you can just slide into place in the divided page protectors.  A different way to scrap.

Thanks

....for being patient.  Being in a creative slump has been hard...add to that the end of school, track and some Spring cleaning that needs to be done around here...I just didn't have a shot at keeping up with all the demands.    You will find three new card kits in the store that I did get created in that time though, so I wasn't a total non-creative lump that whole time :)

Materials:
     Paper: My Mind's Eye
     Cardstock: Paper Cut
Sticker: SRM Stickers
Spellbinders Standard Circle
String: from the TWINERY
Pop-dots

Simple card with the pattern from the back and front being used.  The stars are cut out of the front side and the back had these great green circles begging to be filled in.  A little twine from our favorite twine collection and a sticker to finish it off.  Easy peasy.

Adventurous

More of my Grand Canyon vacation pages

Materials:
Paper: Pink Paislee "House of 3" MAP
     Pink Paislee "HomeTown Summer:
     Crate Paper: Toy Box
Stickers: Crate Paper, Cosmo Cricket and My Mind's Eye
Mini Alpha Stickers: Cosmo Cricket
Spellbinders: Circle

This map paper from Pink Paislee is perfect for a road trip album or just about anything!  I think I bought three sheets of this one.  The back is cool too.  I used the border strip from a sheet for the star border that runs along the left side.  Spellbinders are used to cut out the circles with the lizard in them.
