Grand Canyon

Time to tackle that Grand Canyon vacation.....that we took in the summer of 2007! .......we have awesome travel papers in right now.....so the motivation is finally here!

Materials:
Paper: Simple Stories and Paper Cut
Sticker: Simple Stories "Destination"
Twill: Creative Imaginations

It is a pretty easy page, some layers and a few embellishments.  The paper has a lot of great features you don't want to cover up.  The acrylic arrow is cut with a die cut tool using some packaging from a recent Cuttlebug toy purchase... I love to "recycle" stuff.

Prom

Another PROM page for the books....

Materials:
     Paper: Best Creations
     WOW Glitter Paper, silver
Picture This Die Cut..already cut and ready to go on your pages!
Sizzix Alterations Die
Bling: Prima and Kaiser Craft
Flower...handmade with some silk ribbon and a brad
Spellbinders: Standard Circle, Large and Small

I tried to keep it fairly simple since the whole photo is a collage.  The bright red dot paper compliments the little bits of red in the photos and the additional glitter circle to back the PROM word finished it off.  The handmade rose in a bright pink was the finishing touch.

You are a ROCKSTAR!

A little bit blingy and little bit rock and roll!

Materials:
     Paper: Metallic Cardstock: Paper Cut
     Black Cardstock: Paper Cut
Patterned paper: My Mind's Eye "Meadowlark"
     WOW Glitter paper "silver"
Ribbon: May Arts
Metal Sign: My Mind's Eye "Daily Dose"
Gems: Kaiser Craft
Sizzix Die: Heart Wings
Sizzix Folder

Can I just say the new glitter paper that we got from WOW is....well, WOW!  We got a few colors in to try on our PAZZLES die cutting machine and it works wonderfully!  So, we ordered more colors in!  Any way....it also works wonderfully in the Cuttlebug with the SIZZIX dies....like butta!  The card is simple layering with a ROCKSTAR theme...did I mention the sign in the middle is actually made of metal??...HEAVY METAL, get it...hehehe.

Guest Designer

Today I am sharing a project done by one of our regular customers....Barb S
She has figured out a clever way to use an old boot as a storage caddy!

Check out the cuteness.

Some paint, charms, ribbon and a few other doo-dads and you can turn anything into a fun piece of working art.

Thank you BARB S for sharing with us.

Prom pix

I have one page for Junior Prom done....a couple more to go!

Materials:
Paper: SandyLion "Rouge de Garance" Angel's Notebook
My Mind's Eye "Lime Twist" Fly a Kite
     Paper Cut cardstock and Mirracard
Bling: Prima
Spellbinders Standard Circle, Scalloped Circle, Star and Pennant
Twine from The TWINERY
Eyelets: Making Memories
Stamp: JUST RITE
INK: Tim Holtz Distress Ink "Black Soot"
Pop-dots

It's not easy to make a Prom page look manly.  I decided to go with this star patterned paper to take the fancy emphasis off the background paper and not overwhelm the whole page with glitz and glitter (but I found a way to use some anyway).  The ribbon under the "photo op" tag is from my son's boutonnière...the only thing that survived the night!  It's a nice way to add a piece of memorabilia from the night to the page without distracting from the photos.  The number 3 is from a set of numbers I have had in my stash for a while.

Thank You panel card

Here is a revamp of a card I did about a year ago. Find that card here.

Materials:
Paper: Graphic45 and Paper Cut cardstock
Stamp: JUST RITE
Ink Tim Holtz Distress Ink "Walnut Stain" and "Vintage Photo"
Brads: Making Memories

I needed to do a new card using the same idea since the papers I used on the original are no longer available.  But I can't keep it the same, so I went with one less top panel and shortened the width.  As you can see....you can use any paper and any style to make this card work!

Something different

I did a little playing this week....things have been hectic for the last three weeks, so forgive the absence of creative posts.  Hopefully I can get back in a crafty groove soon and can share some of my newest toys!

Materials:
Paper: Reminisce and My Mind's Eye
Ribbon: Creative Imaginations and May Arts
Chipboard Sticker : Crate Paper
Sticker: Crate Paper
ink: Tim Holtz Distress ink "Vintage Photo"
Sizzix Alterations "Rosette Die" this is the new smaller version!!

So, hopping through the blog world I randomly came across a card with a stamped image on a sheet that was cut into small "brick like" pieces.  I decided to try that out with a patterned piece of paper instead.  Each little piece is inked along the edge with a foam applicator (the TIM HOLTZ one :) ) and then everything else is layered on the card.  Something a little different to try....once.....hehehe

A little birdie told me...

Materials:
Paper: Tim Holtz Paper Stash "Seasonal"
Ribbon: Creative Imaginations
String
Spellbinders: Foliage and Fancy Ribbon Label
Tim Holtz Alterations folder
Stamp: A*Muse

I used an A*Muse stamp (which is no longer a stamp company available to retailers) for my sentiment.  Any stamp will work here...try it......it really will work for any stamp :)........Plus I finally got to use my new Spellbinders!!  Took me forever to get to play.   The paper is from a paper pack from the man..Tim Holtz.  Love it!

Happy Mother's Day

Remember how I mentioned that yesterday's card would be repeated today only with a different look....well, here it is!  Yesterday was bright and flashy and today we go with a nice vintage look for the Mom's Day cards.

Materials:
     Paper: Graphic45 and Reminisce
     Cardstock: Paper Cut
Spellbinders: Pennant
Sizzix Alterations: "Sewing Room"
Ribbons: May Arts and My Mind's Eye
My Mind's Eye brads
Twine: The TWINERY
Paint and Pop-dots
Eyelets: Making Memories

I actually made these cards before I made the one from yesterday, but yesterday was prom and today is Mother's Day.  I like the idea of taking the same idea a tweaking it to fit the theme for the day.

Prom card?

I made this as a favor for a certain someone in my household....

Materials:
Paper: Prima and Paper Cut cardstock
Spellbinders: Standard Circle and Pennant
Sizzix Alterations "Sewing Room"
Twine: from The TWINERY
Eyelets: Making Memories
Ribbon: May Arts
Paint
Tulle
Bling: Kaiser Craft and HERO ARTS

We do not have this paper in the store anymore but we have plenty of great papers that would work for this design!  As a matter of fact...you will see this same design tomorrow for a Mother's Day card.  I wanted something really bright and flashy.  This is one of those sheets I got from Sally Lynn MacDonald when she was here teaching the COPIC certification class a couple years ago.  It is a PRIMA paper that was double sided and I used both sides and really, almost the entire sheet for this letter size envelope card.

Graduation stuff

I have been busy creating the card box that will be at graduation next year...looks like a graduation cap!

Here it is with another school paper for the base.
Got a lot of people coming to eat and want to make the plain paper plates and napkins look nice?  Take some of the school papers (or a cardstock in your school colors) and make a napkin ring.  Simple!

School papers are available at PICTURE THIS in Eau Claire.  Check out our display of graduation cards and decorations to inspire you.
