HAPPY BIRTHDAY

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my Dad
Materials:
     MCRICE Wilderness papers *NEW*
     Paper Cut cardstock
JUST RITE Stamps
TIm Holtz Distress Ink "Black Soot"
Pop-Dots

This paper could not be any easier to work with....and when it comes to guy cards and pages, well...this is the ticket!!  Our friends at MCRICE, Nancy and Ron, are so nice to work with and we gave them the suggestion of doing some papers from their line in a more "card friendly" manner.  Thus the "Medley" was born.  A 12x12 sheet of a sampling of their wonderful wildlife and outdoors photos in smaller sections that can be cut up and used on cards or left whole to do your scrapbook pages.  you have to see the sheets to see what I am talking about.

Fridge Magnet

...or whatever you want it to be.

I love these HUGE bottle caps we got in for our Craft BUFFET...there are smaller ones too!
I put some cute papers and chipboard stickers in the middle of the bottle cap (the paper is cut with the Spellbinders circle (perfect!) and then added a couple of trinkets from the Buffet line (haha, that's funny) and even added the word "LIST" to the middle of the plain ticket with my JUST RITE stamps.  The perfect convergence of goodness and fun!

How fun would these be with a photo of a family member in the middle with some trinkets that work with their personality?  OHHHHHHH, the possibilities!

PARTY!!

My party collection......if I were to throw a party...this might be a theme I would run with.
You know I love me some Graphic45!!

A close up of the "invite"
One side of the cupcake topper
the other side....
the cupcake.....betcha want to know how I made that one don't you??  It's a FAKE one!!
and one of the treat bags.....see how tiny the little paper bag is??  The sweetest little thing. Perfect size for a small candy bar inside.  The bag could have a name written on it for a place card holder.
The larger tube of goodies is a "party popper" style goodie holder.  Fill a tulle wrapped tube with wrapped candy or goodies and tie up the ends.  Use your favorite paper and other embellishments to finish the theme off.

Do you catch a theme happening here....birthday perhaps??

Ok, so as far as the project goes, Paula and I had this idea to make a fun display of things you can do with paper that isn't cards or scrapbook pages.  We have the paper, the technology, the tools.....what else can we create with paper?  With cupcake toppers being all the rage these days, I figured that would be fun, but how to display a cupcake topper without a cupcake?  Can't use a real one, it wouldn't last.  The internet saves us again.  Paula found me a "recipe" for a fake cupcake and above is the result.  Who knew styrofoam, plaster, paint and spackle could look so tasty?

Winter Carnival

Materials:
     Paper: World Win cardstock

Birthday...

And the last of the "Budget Bunch" cards.

Did I mention that these 6 cards were created using just 3 pieces of 8x11, two different pieces of 12x12 cardstock, one patterned paper, a sheet of letter stickers and a package of pop-dots.

We had fun in this quick class.  You could make any combination of sentiments with the letters and any embossing folder will work for the texture.  Give it a try.

Wednesday, March 2, 2011

Tweet me!

I don't "tweet", and I don't plan on it either....but this was fun to put on a card.

Two more cards from the "Budget Bunch" class.

Tuesday, March 1, 2011

HELLO!

Cards from the Budget Bunch card class.  You could even call this a One Sheet Wonder class.....what can you make with a package of pop-dots, a sheet of letter stickers,  three sheets of 8x11 cardstock, two sheets of 12x12 cardstock and a piece of patterned paper?  6 cards with some leftovers for making a few more!

This class was a quick one to show how you can take some simple cardstock, letter stickers, pop-dots and some embossing folders and turn that into 6 great cards.
