Retro Rewind

A blast from the past with paper.  Most of the paper and embellishments on this page are retired and no longer available....but I still own them and want to use them....and maybe you do too!!  Of course, this design can be recreated with any paper and in any theme.  So go for it...dig out the old paper and see what's hiding in your stash.

While working on the JUDITH stamp project for the FAB 5 I made a few extra's that didn't make the cut for the week long project reveal.  So, I am sharing now.

Stamps: JUDITH and JUST RITE
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink "Black Soot"
COPIC Markers: C0, C00 and C3

Love the custom papers from Stampin Station.  You can create a custom card for any school with just a few changes to the original design.

Make & Take project

This was a Make & Take project from January 13.  With all the things going on this week we didn't get to the posting of the project.  We had the regular FREE version and the step it up for a buck version.  Both beautiful and both using the JUST RITE stamps.  People who stopped by and did the Step it Up version learned a new technique on rolled roses.

Playing with my My Mind's Eye collection again.  This time I broke out the mini paper pad.

Materials:
Paper: My Mind's Eye Paper pad

FAB 5 Day 4

A TWOFER for today.
I used the little word stubbies from the JUDITH collection.  You can take any cute patterned paper and make and adorable card with the simple addition of a word stamp.

Materials:
Paper: My Little Shoe Box
WorldWin and Paper Cut cardstock
WeR Memory Keepers (the scallop border)

This fun line from My Little Shoe Box has tons of possibilities for card making and then add the stubbies from JUDITH...you really have it then.  You could even add some of the fun little images to these...hearts, carrots, spiders, bugs....just tons of images from the JUDITH stubbies line.

Happy Anniversary

Happy Anniversary to my parents.
a few days early
44 years and counting.

Materials:
     Paper: Basic Grey "origins"
     WorldWin cardstock
Ribbon: May Arts
Spellbinders: Tag Trio
Punch; Martha Stewart
Sizzix Alterations die: Rosette
Bling: Kaiser Craft
Ink" Tim Holtz Distress Ink "Rusty Hinge"
Sizzix folder

This is made from  the leftovers of a project I did almost a month ago.  I almost never through anything away.  The narrowest of strips can be used for anything, including this rosette.  I think a 1 1/2" piece of paper is all it takes to punch this out. Not to mention the butterflies and tag are made from very small pieces of paper.

The FAB 5 begins tomorrow, so I am posting my anniversary card to my parents a few days early since we are not using these materials in our FAB 5 projects.....what are we using?  JUDITH stamps!!  Stick with us this week for all the FAB 5 fun.

Two little love birds

One month to Valentines Day, are you ready?  Ya, me either :(

Spellbinders: Inverted Circle  and Tag Trio
Stamp: WeR Memory Keepers
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Inks: "Black Soot", "Bundled Sage",  "Frayed Burlap" "Walnut Stain"

Pretty simple little card made with a dollar stamp.  Yes, you can get cool stuff for a dollar...and it doesn't have to be a snack from the dollar menu at fast food restaurant....hehehe.

Bruce Mound Ski

Materials:
     Paper: Karen Foster?
     My Mind's Eye
Spellbinders: Standard Circle and Large Snowflake
Stickers: My Mind's Eye Cosmo Cricket "Tiny Type"
Tags: My Mind's Eye

I think the main background paper is from Karen Foster...it is actually a squirt gun fight paper.  I liked all the blues with the splashes in the background.  Kinda like the way it is up on the ski hills sometimes when things begin to warm up.

Sorry, the quality of the photos is bad because I am forced to take them that way...I am running out of space on my blog and will have to find a new solution soon, so....for now.....low pixel photos.

Clean and Simple

Clean and Simple.....and so not me usually.  I liked the look of this card so much I had to jump up and make one right away!

Materials:
Lily Bee "Lovely; Whimsy"
Cardstock: Paper Cut
Stickers: SRM "Thanks"
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink "Black Soot"
Spellbinders: Standard Circle Large
Stamp: JUST Rite's "Happy Everything Tag Making Kit"

Like I said above....I liked the card design so much I jumped up and created one....simple and quick.  It took all of 10 minutes to gather my materials....It helped that I had this dot paper on my desk at the time and was eager to give it a nice cut down the middle....hehehe.

Dare Devil

Back to some pages again...when the scrappin' MOJO is hot it's best to keep at it until it wanes.

Materials:
Paper: Cosmo Cricket "Material Girl: Measuring Up"
Bo Bunny: Back to Basics "Roughin' it S"Mores
Scenic Route: Cape Town "Adderley Floral
Lily Bee Designs Christmas Town "Night Divine"
     Graphic45
Stickers: Cosmo Cricket and Reminisce
Tags: My Mind's Eye
Spellbinders: Standard Circle

I used some wallet size photos of the jumping since it is difficult to get a truly clear photo in "sports mode"
on my camera.  Love the shots it can take, but the quality when you enlarge is not there.  So, with this page I started with a few scraps of paper and then added a few patterned papers that worked with the colors I already had going.  A few embellishments and title and you're all done.

Downtown

A blast from the past page.  Since I was rummaging through my 2008 CHA photos I ran across this one from our night downtown....we need a little downtime after all the walking around the show floor.

Materials:
Paper: My Mind's Eye "Fine & Dandy: Pleasant"
LilyBee Designs: Three Little Birds "Double Dutch"
Stickers: My Mind's Eye "Fine & Dandy"
Bling: HERO ARTS

The pennant stickers from My Mind's Eye were the perfect addition to this page.  Can't beat coordinating papers and embellishments!!  I added a little bling to the burst under the star for some added glitz.

10 things....

...I love about the Tim Holtz line

Materials:
    Paper: Cosmo Cricket "Circa 1934"
     Basic Grey "origins"
Tissue Tape
Cosmo Cricket "Tiny Type" letters
Salvage Stickers
Crate Paper Stickers
Spellbinders: Inverted Circle and Standard circle
Brads: My Mind's Eye

So, maybe I have mentioned one or two or ten times that I have meet and touched Tim Holtz....well, this is the 2008 Summer CHA photo from the class Leann and I did with him.  Since I have been working with the Circa 1934 papers from Cosmo Cricket....this was the perfect time to do this page.  I used the Tiny Type letters to spell out my favorite pieces from his massive collection (sadly, I only put 10 down...there are so, so many more) and used the great vintage papers from Cosmo Cricket for the circles.

Memories

Materials:
Paper: Cosmo Cricket "Circa 1934: Ginger, Gable and Borders"
     Paper Cut cardstock
Stickers: Crate Paper and Cosmo Cricket "Circa 1934" and "Tiny Type"
Brads: My Mind's Eye "Abbey Road"
Spellbinders: Inverted Circles
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink "Vintage Photo"
Pop-dots

I have been coveting that Circa 1934 paper since the seeing it in a sales reps catalog....and now I can finally play with the paper I bought.  I hate having to wait for time to create with my goodies, but SOOO many goodies come in on a regular basis that it is hard to pick one to start with.  Of course, this has been in for a while, but I have other obligations to attend to as well....like my Just Rites, Spellbinders, Tim Holtz dies....etc....:).  Just not enough hours in a day I tell you!  I seem to run in streaks with my crafting too....cards for a while and then pages....I think you can guess where this is going?? I only like to post one project per day and, truth is, I can get several done in a day and then do nothing for several more...that darn family wants my attention too.

If you wish to see more projects...stop by the store....they end up on display there first (until the materials I used run out) and then they come back to my books at home.

FAB 5 is coming up soon too...so stay tuned!!

     WorldWin cardstock
Spellbinders: Nestabilites "Eyelet Square", Standard Square" and "Labels Trio"

The red and black make a card just pop.  The big scallop stamp in the foreground will work with many stamps and in any color.

Happy Birdy

To play or not to play...I say play!!
Materials:
Papers: WorldWin and Paper Cut cardstock
    My Little Shoebox
Spellbinders: Labels Trio, Standard Circle and Large Scallop Circle
Punch: Martha Stewart
Flowers: Prima
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink "Black Soot" and "Peeled Paint"
Sew-Easy tool from We R and Starburst head
Thread (my own stash of DMC floss from a million years ago)
Stickles: "Waterfall"

I had some more little pieces from the "My Little Shoebox" paper that I used a while back and wanted to make a bunch of cards with all the cute things on the sheet....lots of birds and houses and fun themes to work with.  Using the blue bird for my launching point I made a pretty nest of punched twigs and flowers and then added the stitching around the outside edge, just for fun!  Love that new tool!!!

The Journey

I had this piece of left over paper from someone's project.....I AM the queen of the doggie bags ya know.....so I get all the project leftovers first and then create the Doggie bags with those leftovers. Some time I get to create a project out of them first....teehee.

Materials:
Paper: TPC Studios, Paper Cut cardstock and WorldWin
Button: KI
Stamp: Stampers Anonymous
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink "Black Soot"
Sizzix "Pine Tree"
Stickles: Star Dust

A pretty simple, basic card, use the elements from the paper and make it work for you.  There was a hill in the paper and I had been playing with my Timmy dies, so the tree was the perfect addition to the overall project.  I was also playing with my Timmy stamps too.....you know I love those :)....but you could easily put any sentiment in there for the finished project.

Shoe shopping?

Who knew a shoe shopping trip would turn into an EVENT?

Materials:
Paper: Cosmo Cricket, Reminisce and WorldWin
Tags: My Mind's Eye and We R Memory Keepers

All we needed was a pair of running shoes for one child and he turned it into an hour long torture test for the rest of us!  He wanted a "fun" pair of shoes and the one pair that fit the best and felt the best was the plain old black shoes.....no neon, no bright red or electric blue....just black.  Better luck next season!
