Birthday Beans

So I finished up with the JILLIBEAN SOUP papers that I bought for the last two layouts I posted.  I usually craft a quick card out of the leftovers which guarantees I use up ALL the bits and pieces!  Plus, all the coordinating materials are already in front of me.

Materials:
     Paper: Paper Cut cardstock
JILLIBEAN SOUP: Split Pea "Sliced Carrots"
Spellbinders "Star" and "Inverted Circle"
Tim Holtz embossing folder
Ink" Tim Holtz Distress Ink "Vintage Photo" and "Antique Linen"
Sticker: Crate Paper "Phrases"
Pop-dots
JUST RITE stamps

I had just a little bit of the paper left but it was enough to add a little to this card.  I used the "Antique Linen" ink to rub a little color on the embossed background image.

The other side

I used another paper from the same line as yesterday's post for this page.  Quin is in his first year of High School Cross Country.

Materials:
Paper: Jillibean Soup: Split Pea "Sliced Carrots" and "Green Peas"
     MOXXIE: Finish Line "Track Talk"
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink "Vintage Photo"

I kept it simple with the photos and the paper.  I inked all the edges of the paper including the background sheet.

The Highlights

I spent a little time indoors this past week......can't imagine that......the rain was a good thing for crafting, but not for the crops!!  So, I finally got this page finished over the weekend and I even got to throw a little Graphic45 in!!!

Materials:
     Paper: Paper Cut cardstock
Jillibean Soup: Split Pea line "Chicken Stock" and "Sliced Carrots"
      MOXXIE: Finish Line "Track Talk"
Sticker: Crate Paper "Phrases"
Graphic45 "Chipboard  Buttons"
We R Memory Keepers "MVP" die cut Journal Pad
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink "Vintage Photo"

These papers from Jillibean Soup were a "must buy" for me when they arrived in the store (several weeks ago) but it took a rain storm and some new photos of my boys running to get me motivated to craft with them. I love the craft paper look to this line and the colors in the pattern are awesome for outdoor photos.

Season's Greetings

A quick Christmas card

Materials:
Paper: Paper Cut cardstock and metallic cardstock
Ribbon: May Arts
Stamp:
Spellbinders: Snowflake....the new one and it is awesome!!
Pop-dots
Ink: Memento "Tuxedo Black"

I saw this done on another blog and decided that it was just amazing and had to try it for myself.  The original was done on a square card but I like the idea of not paying extra for my mail.  We will be doing a version of this card in the card marathon on October 9.

Happy and Sweet

A funny photo of my niece and a fun page to make the rainy days brighter!!
Whew, I am so done with rain for a while.

Materials:
     Paper: Bo-Bunny
     WorldWin cardstock
     GCD
Stickers: Sassafrass Lass and Jenniy Bowlin
Die Cut: My Mind's Eye
String
Stamp: We R Memory Keepers mini's
Ink" Tim Holtz Distress Ink "Broken China"
Punch: EKSUCCESS

I just loved the wild colors in this Bo-Bunny paper and had to find a fun photo for it.  My niece Miss M is trying to get my attention to take a photo of her, but the wind is so crazy her hair keeps getting in the way!  She is still a cutie patootie.

The page is pretty simple, all the patterns are in the background paper, so it is a matter of getting some other elements on the page.

Anniversary

Happy Anniversary to my hubby.....22 years and counting.

Materials:
     Paper: Paper Cut cardstock
                My Mind's Eye
Bingo Card: Jenni Bowlin
Stamp: We R Memory Keepers "Signs"
Stickers: Cosmo Cricket
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink: "Vintage Photo", "Walnut Stain" and "Red Barn"
Tissue Tape (Tim Holtz)

This card started with one idea and ended in a totally different way.  I started with the stamped images on a piece of cream and mounted it to the middle of the cardstock.  From there I decided to add a little tissue tape....then a little more....and then a little more........and you see where that ended up! lol.  I added the "you, love, me" to the stamped images with the tiny letters from the Cosmo Cricket set...these are coming into the store soon, we are just waiting for the shipment!  After that was done I added a bit of inkyness to the tissue tape with a sponge.

Team Work

I had a little trouble getting this to photograph well.  The green is much brighter in real life.

Materials:
Paper: MOXXIE: Chillin' Out "Peace Out"
Crate Paper: Snow Day Collection "Flakes"
     Paper Cut cardstock
Stickers: MOXXIE: Finish Line and Cosmo Cricket "Tiny Type"
Brads: My Mind's Eye "Abbey Road"
Rub-On: Heidi Swapp

You are probably looking at the paper descriptions and wondering where the names of the papers come from...double sided paper!!  The other side of the beige grid is a bunch of pink snowflakes!!  And The opposite side of the green background is a teal pattern with peace signs all over it!   You just never know what will work for your project.

Birthday Bouquet

Stamping a background is an easy way to make a background work with the materials you have.

Materials:
     Paper: Paper Cut cardstock
Stamps: JUST Rite and We R "Flowers" mini stamps set
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink: "Peeled Paint", "Shabby Shutters" and "Barn Red"
Stickles: Christmas Red
Pop-Dots

I stamped the leaves all over the bottom half of the card with the leaves from the stamp set.  A few little flowers along the the top of the leaves and you have a canvas for your pop-dotted flowers.  I used the largest flower on heavy cardstock and cut them by hand.  A little bit of Stickles in the middle and you're done.

Running

Back to the running pages.

Materials:
Paper: WorldWin and Paper Cut cardstock
We R Memory Keepers: "Out & About: This Way Or That"
                Teresa Collins
                Reminisce "Track Words"
Mini Alpha Stickers: Cosmo Cricket (these are new and on their way to the store.....)
Journaling tag: October Afternoon

I have one more page finished in the vast collection of running pages for my kids books.  I kept it pretty simple with just some patterned papers and a few choice words cutout from the Reminisce word sheet.

Snickers

This is my doggie Snickers.  I don't do many pages with her because she doesn't do much....but this paper from Basic Grey was too fun to pass up.

Materials:
Paper: Basic Grey: Max & Whiskers line
"Adage Tags" from Tim Holtz
Stickers: Sassafrass Lass, Tim Holtz Salvage Stickers and Rocky Mountain
Brad: My Mind's Eye "Abbey Road"
Rain Drops
Film Strip Ribbon from Tim Holtz

There are three different papers from the Max & Whiskers line on this page...the double sided paper is wonderful to work with.  The blue check is on the back of the puppy patterned piece!  I roughed up the edges of the little squares with my TONIC distressing tool to add a little something to the page....give it that "dog eared" look...hehe.  The stickers (star, heart and sun burst) are from a school line of stickers that worked perfectly with the colors in the paper line.

What a Pear

"What a Pear" is the stamp I need for this card, but, I didn't have that, so I settled for the "Just for you" sentiment.  I suppose I could have made one with my JUST RITE alpha stamps.....but, I hadn't used this other JUST RITE stamp, and I was trying to be fair...lol

Materials:
Paper: Paper Cut cardstock "gumdrop green"
                WorldWin cardstock
TPC Studios paper "So Delish: Pear Delight"
Spellbinders: Standard Circle and Lacey Circle
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink "Black Soot"
Stamp: JUST RITE
Cuttlebug: "Preserves" set
Ribbon: May Arts

This was a MUST HAVE piece of paper!  As soon as I saw it I had to have it.  It is just adorable!  the little yellow pears on the sheet are shiny and the rest of the paper is flat matte finish.  You have to see it in person, it is super cute!  The other MUST HAVE item for me was the LACEY CIRCLE Spellbinders die....ahh, finally.  Waiting is such torture!!  So, for this card I did a little hand cutting of the pears from the paper and some simple layering.  As an added bonus, I had this pear embossing folder from CUTTLEBUG....how perfect.

FAB 5 Day 4

Good morning!  I am your FAB 5 Designer of the Day today.  I hope you like my card.

I worked with the Renaissance Hearts Pendant from Spellbinders for this card.

Materials:
     Paper: WorldWin cardstock
Paper Cut cardstock and metallic cardstock
Spellbinders: Renaissance Hearts, Octagon and Octagon Scallop
Sizzix folder "Tim Holtz: Regal Flourishes"
Ribbon: May Arts
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink "Walnut Stain"
Stamp: Just Rite
Pop-Dots

If you saw yesterday's card post on my blog you will notice this card is identical in design to it.  I just wanted to show you can take the same exact card and make it work for any theme and with any paper.

Another card with a mix of metallic and matte finish papers.  The ribbon on this one is from the newest ribbons we received from May Arts on our buying trip to Chicago in July.  We fell in love with these beauties.  The folded ribbon was the first one I "had to have".  Then when I was playing with the rick-rack looking one on top, I thought, "these work great together!"

This is another card you have to feel to appreciate, so stop by the store and check it out.

The greatest of these...

....is LOVE.

More Pendants from SPELLBINDERS.

I love working with the monochromatic scheme.  Makes picking papers really easy!!  I went with a metallic and a flat cardstock.

Materials:
Paper: Paper Cut cardstock and metallic cardstock
Stamp: Just Rite
Spellbinders: Fancy Labels, Renaissance Hearts Pendant and Lattice Pendant
Cutttlebug: Plum Blossom SET
Pop-dots
Bling: Kaiser Craft
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink "Black Soot"

I can't seem to work without the pop-dots lately!  So we are on day 2 of the FAB 5 projects and today's featured designer is Kayla, so don't forget to check out her blog for "pendant inspiration".  I think she even has a "guest designer" on her blog today too.

I used a mix of the metallic and flat papers for a nice contrast between the two.  It is hard to see in the photo, but stop by the store for a personal view and you'll see what I mean.  I used the inside of the large main die for the design element and added the label and a small accessory piece from another die set to complete the design.

Pendant designs

The FAB 5.....myself included.....are working with the Spellbinders Shapeabilities Pendants this week.  Each day one of us will show a different project with the pendant instead of a project from each of us each day.  The staff has a lot of huge projects coming up and we just didn't have time to get a weeks worth of projects together for all the blogs.

Me, being an overachiever.....I did 5 anyway.  So here is one....

Materials:
     Paper: World Win cardstock
     Creative Imaginations patterned paper
Spellbinders PENDANT "Kaleidioscope", Octagon and Fleur d' lis
Gems: HERO ARTS
Pop-dots

I just layered together my die cut pieces into a pretty design.  The octagon really works nicely with this Pendant shape!!

Birthday Cheer

And now for the other side of the paper.  Yes, I mentioned Friday that I was loving both sides of this paper.  So here is the other side.  All greens.

Materials:
     Paper: WorldWin cardstock
Basic Grey: Kioshi "Sayuri" and "Rebun"
Stamp: Just Rite
Stampers Anonymous "Nature's Discovery" and "School Desk"
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink: "Peeled Paint" and "Black Soot"
Buttons: Basic Grey

I created a background in a background with a large pattern stamp.  By taking a piece of cardstock and matching the ink color to it (slightly darker of course) you can create a subtle background.  For the foreground stamp (foliage) I used the black ink.  You can see both images, but the background ink doesn't distract from the foliage image.  Add a few buttons and a nice sentiment and you're done.

Miss You

I decided I needed to work with some different paper today.  So I grabbed my next favorite brand...Basic Grey!  This is from the Kioshi line.

Materials:
     Paper: WorldWin cardstock
Basic Grey: Kioshi "Sayuri" and "Rebun"
Spellbinders: Standard Circle, Scallop Circle, and Labels Two
Pearls: Melissa Frances
Stamp: Just Rite
Ribbon: May Arts
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink: "Dusty Concord" and "Milled Lavender"
Pop-dots

This is a fun double sided paper with a pretty pattern on both sides.  You'll see what I did with the other side tomorrow....when I finish it....lol.  So, for this one, I used the pattern in the paper to make the circle centers.  They were a fun design all by themselves, so I went with it!  Instead of going with the same pattern as the background I twisted the ones in the circles.  Finish off with a pearl and a nice stamped sentiment and you're done.  Any stamp will work here..Thank You, Birthday....whatever.

It's a WILD CARD

Not "WiLd", but a "Wild Card" from October Afternoon....and for those of you still wondering what I am talking about......October Afternoon is a scrapbooking line and "Wild Card" is a cute card line they created as an embellishment.

Materials:
Paper: Graphic45; Communique Collection "A Fine Specimen"
                Graphic45; Communique Collection "Postage"
                Graphic45; Botanicabella Collection "Botanical News"
Graphic45 Staples Chipboard Buttons
October Afternoon WILD CARDS "Thrift Shop"
String
Pop-dots
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink "Vintage Photo"
TONIC distress tool

I grabbed this camera WILD CARD as my starting point for this card.  Added bits and pieces from other collections and viola!  Poof, it's a card.  The WILD CARD collection from OCTOBER AFTERNOON come in several themes, including Christmas.  We have 4 themes at the store.  Just a fun card to put together and it's so easy to work with the "cards".

HEY YOU!

I got another card done!

Materials:
Paper: Graphic45; "Ode to a Butterfly"
                Graphic45; Botanicabella: "Garden Suite"
                Paper Cut cardstock "Expresso"
Stickers: Crate Paper: "Phrases"
Tim Holtz Tissue Tape
Alcohol Ink: Butterscotch, Caramel, Latte and Rust
Pop-Dots
Spellbinders: Labels One

Love the EXPRESSO cardstock from Paper Cut....it has a waffle texture to it and it is super thick!  Plus the color is awesome!  Ok, so you wanna know what the big deal is with this card...well, my buddy Barb P was telling me about a fun thing she was trying from the Tim Holtz blog and I thought I would give it a try...I have the materials to play with.....and I did it.  I got out my tissue tape, taped up a piece of cardstock and then cut out the Labels One shape.  Since it is fairly see-through, you have to put several pieces over the area you are covering.  You get a ton of yardage with the tape, so this is not a problem.  The tissue tape is also pretty white  looking, not exactly "antique".  Add a little alcohol ink to a applicator tool (a dab of each color) and tap away on the tissue tape cut out.  Tap and stop, tap and stop. Gotta let it dry for a bit ya know!  So after you have the color you want you let it dry....like 5 seconds....and start assembling.  The butterfly's are cutout from the backside of the dot paper used on the card front.  The paper ribbon is just a bit of folding and a strip of tape.

So thanks Barb P for giving me some inspiration to get started!!

Happiness is...

...getting some crafting done!  I finally got my sheets of GRAPHIC45 Steampunk Debutante out....oh what fun!  I still need to decorate the inside of this one, but that can come later.

Materials:
     Paper: PaperCut cardstock
Graphic45: "Steampunk Debutante Collection: Nouveau Artistry and Victorian Transformers"
Graphic45: "Christmas Past Collection: Deck the Halls"
Brad: My Mind's Eye "Lost & Found: Union Square"
Spellbinders: Fancy Labels
Ribbon: May Arts
Punch: Retro Flower
Stamps: JUST Rite
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink "Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain"
String

This card is a little bigger than the normal 1/4 cut card.  It ends up being 4 1/2 X 6 1/2.  I simply cut a panel from the Nouveau Artistry paper and then built on that for the rest of the card.  The great thing about Graphic45 all the colors work well together from each line.  The background paper is the Christmas line and the flower is from the Steampunk Debutante line.

Grab some Graphic45 at Picture This and get crafty!!

Thank You

     WorldWin cardstock DoubleMates "Racy Raspberry"
Ribbon: May Arts
SPELLBINDERS: STandard Circle and Large Scallop Circle
Stamp: JUSTRITE "Cardmaking Set"
Pop-Dots

I have been a bit of a slacker of late, but with school starting and practices....the running for me has not stopped.  I am hoping to keep up now that the first few days are out of the way and a routine has been established again.

So, simple deal is that the paper goes into the Emboss Plus folder and it cuts and embosses at the same time....sweet deal!!  You can pop out some of the details or leave them in like I did. Each folder has some great designs with a couple alphabets too!  Check them out at PICTURE THIS.

Welcome Baby

I was working with an older set of Cuttlebug Cut and Emboss sets...the "Welcome Baby" set has an embossing folder and a cut plate with words on it.

Materials:
    Paper: Reminisce "Baby"
     WorldWin cardstock
Stamp: Just Rite "Loving Thought's Set"
Spellbinders: Standard Circle and Scallop Circle Petite
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink: "Worn Lipstick"
Pop-dots

I used the pattern on the folder to make the strip across the top....it is actually a flat strip that is embossed instead of an all over dot pattern.  This would make a great spot for stamping a sentiment of any kind on.  I used the baby words from the cut die for the front and inside of the card.  This is a fun set and we only have two left in the store and this one will be retired to the "order on demand" file (while still available for order that is...).....we are running out of room to stock them all!!  I guess that isn't a bad thing....but we like to see all the fun tools we can play with in one place.
