A note card

Piggy Tales had some cute papers that we recently got into the store.  The reds match my "fired Brick" so well....and you know how I love using my Tim Holtz inks!!

Materials:
     Paper: Piggy Tales
     World Win cardstocks
Stamp: Stampendous
Ink: Tim Holtz DistressInk "Fired Brick"
Nestabilities: Square and Fancy Labels
Pop-dots

I have been wanting to play with this stamp for a while and we finally got some  in the store, so playing I have been!!  After cutting the square out from the cardstock I left the piece in the die frame and then inked from the outside in to get the shaded effect.  then I used the same color ink to stamp the flowers.  Then its all layering after that.

Birthday Card

I have a birthday in the family today, so I had to share my creation.

Simple card with papers and a few embellishments.

Materials:
Paper: WorldWin and Paper Cut cardstock
Reminisce patterned paper (double sided with checker on one side and the caution tape on the other)
Stamps: Just Rite
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink "Barn Red" and "Black Soot"
Nestabilities: Octagon
Eyelets: Making Memories

I used a square card for the base and then cut up the checkered paper, put it on the base with eyelets and then stamped out my "hand created" stamp set.  I love being able to spell out whatever I want with my Just Rite sets!!  The stop sign is pop-dotted and the banner is hand cut.

VINTAGE

I was playing with this striped paper that reminded me of a vintage feather bed....am I old or what??

Paper: Graphic45
     WorldWin cardstock
Melody Ross patterned paper (by GCD?)
Stamp: Just Rite
Brads: Spare Parts
Punch "Apron Lace" by EKSuccess
Twill
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Inks "Fired Brick" and "Vintage Photo"
Nestabilities: Labels 9

A quick card to get back in the swing of things.  I have been a busy little bee creating pages for the store,  card and page kits (lots of those!) and more!  Track season is in full swing so I will be spending days at work and afternoons at the high school tracks around the state.

My little cowboy

When the kid gets goofy, he really gets goofy!

Materials:
Basic Grey, Graphic45 and Cosmo Cricket papers
Stickers: SandyLion
My Mind's Eye tag
Film Strip ribbon: Tim Holtz
Staples: Making Memories

I wanted to take  a quick photo of the child doing a little dance in his uncles cowboy hat and a fancy rhinestone belt buckle. ...I forgot I had the camera on the sports speed setting....so I got several shots.....good for me right?? haha

Simple page with embellishments and paper bits.  The letters are from Graphic45 and each one pops off the page for easy titles.

Note card

I was playing with some leftovers today and put this little note card together.

Materials:
Paper: Basic Grey, Graphic 45 and WorldWin cardstock
Button:
String
Twill: Creative Imaginations
Sewing machine
Pop-dots

I had a bunch of little strips of this Basic Grey floral patterned paper from a class and I needed to make use of them.  I trimmed them down just a hair more and added the cream paper layer behind them before attaching them to the card base.  I used the sewing machine (without thread) and made rows of little holes around each of the pieces of patterned paper.  Then I took this strip of REALLY WIDE twill and draped it over the top and had it hang down the side...a little bit of fraying for effect and a great button to tie it all together.  The tag from the Graphic45 paper made the whole thing come together.  The Domestic Goddess line has so many wonderful images (as does the ENTIRE LINE of Graphic45 papers).

Marriage

I found this pretty folder in the Ornamental Iron embossing and cutting set from Cuttlebug.  LOVE IT!

MAterials:
     Paper: WorldWin cardstock
Ink: Tim Holt Distress Ink "Worn Lipstick" and "Spun Sugar"
Pearls: Kaiser Craft
Stamp: Just Rite sets
NESTABILITIES: Standard Circle
Cuttlebug: Ornamental Iron embossing and cutting set

I love the detail in this folder from Cuttlebug.  Makes for a very beautiful card.  I inked a bit of "Spun Sugar" over the embossed image and then a little more over the cut out border edge.  Some stamping with my Just Rite sets and a little more inking and you have a nice card.

Gift Card

I made this gift card for a friend "To mater" her feel better.  It was a whole TOMATO themed  basket and card.

Materials:
Paper: Paper Cut and Graphic 45
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink "Fired Brick" and "Black Soot"
Ribbon: Offray
NESTABILITES: Circle, Long Rectangle Scallop and Scallop Circle
Stamps: Just Rite

I used my JUST RITE stamp sets to make a CUSTOM stamp to put my personalized sentiment on the card.  You just can't do that with any other stamp set.  I also cut the circle card shape of the card by folding my paper in half and cutting it out with the Spellbinders Nestabilities leaving a portion of the folded edge inside the cutting surface so it wouldn't cut it.

     WorldWin cardstock
     CORE'dinations cardstock
Ribbon: May Arts
String
Balloons
Cuttlebug "Happy Birthday" embossing folder set

Simple layers with very bright papers and embellishments.  Very hard to get a good photo because it is so bright.

Notes from the beach

I am adoring this line of paper from Graphic45 (of course).  The "On the Boardwalk" line is so cool!

Materials:
     Paper: WorldWin cardstock "Aqua Denim"
     Paper Cut "Black" cardstock
GRAPHIC45 "On the Boardwalk; High Style Holiday"
My Mind's Eye patterned paper (notebook print)
Ribbon: Creative Imaginations Twill
Key: Kimberly Polson
Pin: Tim Holtz Trinket Pins
Brads: Creative Impressions
Pop-dots
Punch: EKSuccess "binder edge"

This sheet of Graphic45 has a bunch of great vintage pictures of beaches, swimmers and other beachy fun.  I chose this one with the little boy launching a boat for my first card out of this sheet.....I see many more to come. There are 17 different pictures on the sheet.

Ok, so then I layered up some papers and then did the wrap around on my wide twill ribbon to create a different look with the twill.  To tie it in a knot would have created quite a big lump in the middle of the card, so I went with the twist and wrapped the ends around the back.  Simple solution.  Now I have a card ready for note writing or a quick birthday card.  I leave my card insides blank so I have the flexibility to do what I need when I need it.

Cross Country..state bound

My son and one other team member made another trip to state this year, this time as an individuals and not as part of the team.  But, the good kids on the team made the snowy trek down to WI Rapids to support their efforts.  We had a little bit of snow fall the night before the run on October 31, 2009.

Materials:
     Paper: WorldWin cardstock
     MOXXIE "You're a Star" line
     Teresa Collins papers
Stickers: My Mind's Eye
Tag: My Mind's Eye

I layered several colors behind the star pattern to tie in the pattern together with the rest of it.  I will journal later on the birdie tag when I get my page back home.  It will hang in the store for a while.

Those school photos....

What do you do with those group photos you get every year?  I put them in the album to start off each year in my son's books.

Simple page with patterned paper and some simple embellishments.  The photo is so full of different things that you need to go simple so you still see the kids in the class.

Materials:
     Paper: WorldWin cardstock
     My Mind's Eye pattern paper
     Cosmo Cricket
Buttons: Reminisce
Star: Sandylion
Ticket: My Mind's Eye

(The faces and names are blurred for their privacy)

Track and Field..we are at it again

Track has begun and the pages that follow are getting created.  I have to keep rolling on them, graduation will be here before you know it.

Materials:
     Paper: Karen Foster
     My Mind's Eye
     Teresa Collins
Stickers: Karen Foster
Tag: My Mind's Eye

Simple page.  Since the paper is covered with plenty of things I just added my favorite running photos from the first meet of the year and added then a few little embellishments.  Can I mention I am loving my new camera...I got one with a faster refresh rate for sports shots....wowzer...the best investment EVER!

GRAPHIC 45 love

I so enjoy the paper in the GRAPHIC45 line....I could just eat them up!  This one just came in with our recent delivery from G45, it's new to the store....since we missed it on the first order less than a month ago.

Materials:
Paper: Graphic 45 "On the Boardwalk" Malt Shop
WorldWin Medium Meri-Gold and Dark Awesome Aqua
WorldWin "Aqua Denim"...one of the new colors....love it!
NESTABILITIES: Fancy Labels
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink "Fired Brick"
Stamp: Just Rite "Custom Card Making Set"
Ribbon: May Arts
Cuttlebug " Herringbone" embossing folder
Pop-Dots

I just loved the girls on this one so I had to make a card....luckily the colors in this one use some of my favorite colors....the Aqua Denim cardstock!!.   I have a lot of favorites going on with this one...Graphic45, Just Rite and NESTABILITIES!  What more can a girl ask for?

I pop-dotted the girls and the sentiment tag to give them a little lift...we girls can all use a lift right? hehe

DON'T FORGET to visit Leann, Annette and I at the SCRAPPIN' & STAMPIN' EXPO today from 9 to 3.

Easter 2010

Hey, look at me, ahead of the game......for this year anyway.  Easter 2010 is in the book (ok, well, it is actually going to hang in the store for a while, but you know what I mean....)

Materials:
     Paper: MOXXIE Easter line
Ribbon: May Arts
Bling: Kaiser Craft
Chipboard flowers: Creative Imaginations
Stickers: Doodlebug "Spring/Easter"
Punch: Martha Stewart "Doily"
Heidi Grace Epoxy Hearts

I loved the pretty eggs on the bottom of this piece of paper, so you can't cover that up....right?  This satin ribbon in purple was the perfect addition to the pretty paper.  To give the chipboard flowers a little more pop I added the epoxy hearts to each petal and one to the center of the other flower.  Something a little fun and different to try.

Ski page

A little daredevil action from my youngest son.  Hard to see in the photo just because I was so far away taking it.  Not easy to take pictures from inside the nice warm ski lodge....lol

Materials:
     Paper: MOXXIE
     WorldWin cardstock
     DCWV Glitter paper
Stickers: Reminisce
Die cut letters with the PAZZLES machine.
NESTABILITES Snowflake die
Gems: Kaiser Craft

Simple page with the papers doing all the work.  I made some snowflakes using the glitter paper to go with the glittery circle around my son in the left side photo.

more pages

I seem to go in streaks....cards cards cards and now pages.

Materials:
     Paper: Real Tree
       Sports & More
       WorldWin
       Graphic45
Tickets: My Mind's Eye
Tags: My Mind's Eye
License plate: Karen Foster

Those shot gun shells are cut from the backside of a red plaid sheet of paper....the shell side had "trap shoot" words all over it.  I used this picnic plaid from Graphic45 for the main part of the photo mat and then lined the sides of the photos with the shells.  The rest is just layering pieces to fill in the information.

Pages...I did some pages

I did another page using the WeR page protectors in 4x4's.

Materials:
     Paper: My Mind's Eye
Stickers: Reminisce and Karen Foster
Tickets: Jenni Bowlin

A really easy way to do a page when you break down the whole thing by 4x4 squares.  Add a few embellishments and you're done.

A quick card

Quick is probably not the right word for this since it took me several days of trial and error  to achieve this folded center.  I was convinced it could be done, I just kept going until it did.

Materials:
     Paper: WorldWin cardstock
    MOXXIE Easter paper
Ribbon: May Arts
JUST RITE stamps
Nestabilities Blossom 2
Memento Ink Tuxedo Black
And a pile of pop-dots.

I ended up using a 1/2" pop-dot to get the top layer to clear the folds, but I think that is too big, so next time I will try several stacked up ones to get to maybe a 1/4" to 3/8" instead.  I am going to attempt this one again...maybe you'll see it as a Make & Take on a Thursday down the line.
