Get well soon...

More of Leann's leftovers...

Materials:
     Paper: WorldWin cardstock
     Cosmo Cricket
Twill
Brads; Making Memories
Stamp: Just Rite "Custom Card Making Kit"
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink "Walnut Stain"
Distress tool from Tonic

I used the leftovers from Leann's project again and came up with this card.  I had some tags left from the tag sheet by Cosmo Cricket, so I incorporated them.  A little twill (again, I know...) and a few brads to round out the design.  I used the leftover pieces to finish the inside of the card as well.

Thank You card with flowers

Monday Leann gave me a little pile of her leftovers again...to see what I would do with the same materials....only this time, I beat her getting them posted!!

Materials
    Paper: WorldWin DoubleMates
               WorldWin Cardstock
               Patterned paper Cosmo Cricket
Stamp: Just Rite Custom Cardmaking Kit
Nestabilites: Labels One
Cuttlebug: Textile Texture
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress ink "Black Soot" and "Weathered Wood"
Corner Punch
Ribbon: Twill (white 3/4")

I let the paper do the talking on this one.  I kinda liked the bright orange flowers and didn't want to cover them up.  I went simple with the Labels One die for the shape around the stamped image.  To get the close edge on the second layer I used the same die but took the EXACTO knife to cut out the shape.  If you use the next size up on this particular label it is much wider and I just wanted a little color to show.

Fun with resist

Ok, so as usual I had a few pieces left over from my first project, so I had to use them up on this one.

Again, the resist technique and my Just Rite stamps make a perfect combo....actually, anything and the Just Rite stamps are the perfect combo!

Materials:
     Paper: Core'dinations
      World Win cardstock
      Paper Cut Glossy cardstock
Nestabilities: Labels 5 and Labels 8
Cuttlebug "Star" folder
Just Rite "Custom Design Cardmaking Kit"
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink: "Fired Brick" and "Faded Denim"
Brads: Making Memories

Too much fun....gotta try this more....and since I do my "messy" crafting in the laundry room, my iron is right there all the time! Why didn't I try this sooner....oh yeah, no wax paper. lol

Simple layering with my papers and cut out.  Give it a try.

HERO

In an attempt to find a tutorial on how to do something else I can across this fun technique! You never know what you will find on the internet.....sometimes good, sometimes great!

Materials:
Paper: WorldWin cardstock (red and cream)
          Paper Cut Glossy cardstock
          Core'dinations cardstock (blue)
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink: "Fired Brick" and "Faded Denim"
     Archival Ink "Jet Black"
Brads: Making Memories
Cuttlebug : "Stars" embossing folder
Ribbon: May Arts
Stamp: Just Rite Alphabets "Times Roman" (the largest letter set)

Ok, so....fun technique that I have wanted to try but forgot about until I ran across it again.  My other problem was not actually having any wax paper to complete the job either.  Gotta have our tools! I would give you details on the how to, but why when this lady does an awesome job of it HERE

It was such fun to play.

This technique will be part of an upcoming Advanced Cuttlebug 101 class.  Stay tuned to the website or the store board for details on this class.

Dream...birthday boy

I little vintage work for this one.  I found this paper from Paper Loft had these great old cars on them and begged to be cut out and used.

Materials:
Paper: Paper Loft "Grandmas House: Tin Lizzy"
    WorldWin cardstock
Tim Holtz Film Strip Ribbon
Tim Holtz Adage Tags
Stamps: Stampers Anonymous "Ultimate Grunge" and "Letter to Santa"
Just Rite Alphabets sets "Times Roman"
Staples
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink: "Vintage Photo" and "Walnut Stain"

I hand cut out the car from the paper which happens to have this great coffee colored grungy print on the other side.  I used my stamps to "grunge up" my background more and then added the car and elements to finish it.  With the Just Rite stamps I spelled out the "Birthday Boy" words and stamped them on the side of the car.  Inside the card I used another car to give it a nice finish on the inside.  Why waste  a perfectly good piece of paper right?

Thinking of you...again

More TWILL fun.

I had an assignment to work with this cute snowman stamp and I did, my way.

Material:
    Paper: Graphic 45
     Paper Cut "JUTE"
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress "Walnut stain"
Markers: COPIC and TOMBO
Punch: EKSUCESS

update: 1-24-10
STAMP IS NOW SOLD OUT

I used my twill a little differently again today.  I frayed the edge again, just like a couple days ago, but this time I stopped to make it a little shorter, like a scarf edge.  I colored in my "scarf" with markers to match my snowperson's scarf. Super fun!

Just Because

Using up some leftovers again here.  I was playing with the JUSTRITES and sometimes what you want doesn't quite turn out...but you can always make it work somewhere.

Materials:
Paper: Basic Grey "Nook & Pantry" Tea Cakes (double sided)
WorldWin cardstock
Ribbon: Twill
Stamps: JustRite "Decorative Borders Set" and "Custom Design Cardmaking Kit"
Inkadinkadoo Clear Minis "In a jam" set
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink: "Fired Brick"
NESTABILITES: Blossom 2 and Standard Circle
Galaxy Markers
Pop-Dots

Same technique as yesterday for the coloring of the shapes.  I just put together the pieces that were left from yesterday's project.  Stamping directly on the twill is yet another way to use your twills.  Tomorrow you will get another idea for TWILL.

Thinking of you

I got out my toys and started playing again.  My NESTIES, TWILL RIBBON and My JUSTRITE stamps are my GO-TO tools right now.

Materials:
Paper: Basic Grey "Nook & Pantry" Tea Cakes (double sided)
    WorldWin cardstock
Ribbon: Twill
Stamps: JustRite "Decorative Borders Set" and "Custom Design Cardmaking Kit"
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink: "Fired Brick"
Cuttlebug "Swiss Dots" folder
NESTABILITES: Labels 5 and Standard Circle
Pop-Dots

I am loving the TWILL ribbon right now for playing with all kinds of different things.  You will see it being used in a few of my recent pages and card kits too....love that stuff!  Using my LABELS 5 die from Spellbinders to create the outside shape for my words I inked in the color while it was still in the die. Makes a great white border.  The decorative flourish was stamped on the inside first to make it easier to line up when cutting out the shape.  Since the NESTIES are "see-through"  and the wood blocks from the JUSTRITE are not, this is the recommended way to do this to get perfect images lined up on your project.  I also heavily inked from the outside edge in to get the nice shading effect.  in the bottom photo you can see that the middle of the labels 5 is actually raised off the background and the edges are adhered directly to the card front.  Simple use of the ever popular pop-dot is all it take to achieve this look.  I also pop-dotted the middle die to raise it up a little more.  The twill ribbon underneath is frayed by just pulling on one little loose string and letting it go until you think you have enough "fray" to work with.  A fun way to change the look of twill.

Hi There!

Playing with my scraps again.

Materials:
Paper: My Mind's Eye "Penny Lane" and "Abbey Road"
Tag: My Mind's Eye
Ribbon: Bo-Bunny
Punch: Martha Stewart "Picket Fence"
Brads: My Mind's Eye "Abbey Road"
Bling: Kaiser and HERO ARTS
Stamp: JustRite
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink "Orange Marmalade"
NESTABILITIES: Label Trio
Pop-dots

I went with a square card for this one, just for something different.  I pop-dotted the inner square design on the main background sheet.  I love the addition of the bling to the tree design, it just makes it fun!

Since I was in a "Tim" mood this week, I grabbed my new Stampers Anonymous stamp set and played a little more.  I love the vintage photos I downloaded from the internet.  So many photos to pick from all across the  net!

Tim Holtz Philosophy Tags, Adage Tickets and Journaling Tickets

   JustRite "Custom Design Cardmaking Kit"
Twine
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Inks: Vintage Photo and Walnut Ink

I printed my vintage photos on cream colored paper to add to the vintage look.

More Crackle paint

I had my paints out so another card was in order...if you're going to paint, you might as well do a few!  The paint brush is in the cap of the little cans of Crackle Paint, so actually I don't have to do any cleaning after I am done playing...all the better!!

Materials:
   Paper: WorldWin
Distress Crackle Paint: Vintage Photo
Tim Holtz Distress Ink: "Black Soot" and "Frayed Burlap"
Stamps: Stampers Anonymous "Urban Tapestry" and "Nature's Discovery"
     JustRite
Ric Rac ribbon: May Arts

I painted my Crackle on the black cardstock in a few thicker layers this time, just to see what would happen.....and the biggest cracks are were the thickest paint is.  I am not sure I like the thick lines, but it is a different look and you just have to try things right?  Before the paint dried though, I stamped the bird into the paint with the black ink.  Again, I just wanted to see what would happen.  It did impress the image into the paint but the crackle didn't change...but hey, I tried it and it still looks ok.  I did go back over it with the stamp and more ink to make it stand out a bit more.  The rest was just simple layers.  I didn't want to hide all the crackles with stuff.

"Love you!"

I had a chance to play with some of my Crackle Distress Paint from the Tim Holtz line.

Materials:
     Paper: WorldWin cardstock
Ribbon: Basic Grey
Ticket: Jenni Bowlin
Stamp: JustRite and Stampers Anonymous "Natures Discovery"
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink "Black Soot"
Crackle Paint: Fired Brick

I had a small piece of black cardstock that I thought I would experiment with, since this is the first time I have used the Crackle Paints.  I just used a regular brush to swipe on some color in a random pattern on the paper and then waited for it to dry...and crackle.  The thicker the paint the more cracked it ends up to be.  Once that was dry, I stamped on the weeds and layered the rest to finish the job.  Simple.

A little birdie told me...

.
..that these are adorable!

BASIC GREY has a cute  set of birdie trinket or treat boxes.  It makes 6 boxes to fill for Valentines Day or whatever you want it for.  There are tons of extra tags to use on cards and other projects too.  The paper line this is based on is the June Bug line...bright and fun for Valentines Treat givng

Off topic

Sometimes I do projects that have nothing to do with paper crafting, but it is still crafting.  The girls at the store have all made one of these bags for their Cuttlebugs, but I wanted a purse, so I modified the pattern and went for a Cuttlebug green and white combo instead.  It's just big enough for my pocket book, some coupons and my phone.

My next bag will be different yet again.....but that is for another day.

Blessings to you

See the shimmer in the paper?

More scrap crafting.  Leann gave me this sheet of leftover paper from her post yesterday...and this is my take on the patterned paper. Check out her blog for her card

Materials:
     Paper: Heidi Grace patterned paper
     World Win cardstock
Nestabilities: Standard Circles, Inverted Circles,  Octagon and Octagon Scallop.
Cuttlebug: Textile Texture
Stamps: JustRite
Ribbon; Basic Grey

A bunch of layers here.  I dug out a bunch of nesties for this....and what fun to play with them.  The ribbon in the Basic Grey set was perfect with this paper too....love it when that happens!!

Paper repeats

Recognize this paper?  You might have seen it here if you like to visit the blogs on the Picture This Blog.
Since Leann had a little of this paper left, I decided to make a card with those leftovers....see what happens when we work together!!

Materials:
Paper: WorldWin cardstock and patterned paper from Making Memories
Nestabilitiies: Blossom 2
Punch: Martha Stewart
Tag: Tim Holtz Philosophy Tags
Stickles: Rock Candy Distress Stickles

In my version I used some vintage photos that I downloaded during the 12 Tags of Christmas project for the card.  My flower for the front is made from the same paper as the card base with the cream color for the twigs.  I Stickled the inside of the flower with my Rock Candy Stickles.  Now my card is ready to send.

A Happy Birthday to you

Ahh, GRAPHIC45.  I just bought this Nestabilities Label 5 die and thought the Tags from the Fashionista Line from Graphic45 was a perfect fit.

Materials:
PapeR: Graphic 45 "Fashionista Collection": En Vogue, Button's Ala Mode and Tags
     Cardstock: WorldWin
Cuttlebug: Victoria embossing folder
Nestabilities: Labels 5 die
Stamp: JustRite alphabet set with long bar stamper
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink "Black Soot"
Brads: Making Memories
Pop-Dots

Simple layers and embossing.  I liked this tag for the center of my card and adhered it to the Labels 5 diecut with black brads.  I slid the "Happy Birthday" ribbon strip under the tag and over the labels.  I used a pop-dot to pop-up the "ribbon" at the point it goes under the tag, but glued it down out toward the ends.  You'll have to stop by and see it if you want to get a good look at what I am talking about.

Hi There!

Did you miss me?  Did you think I had fallen off the face of the earth??  Well, no...just spending some time with family.  All this blogging takes up a lot of time (especially when you have three blogs, two Facebook accounts and other computer "time waster" pastimes).  But, I am back with a cute little card made with the Woodland Whimsy papers from TPC Studios.

Materials:
Paper: TPC Studios "Woodland Whimsy"; Green Leaves, Owls, Flowers and Ferns, and Little Bird Clouds
      Cardstock: Paper Cut
Sizzix: Dots embossing folder (just like Swiss Dots)
Sewing Machine
Brads: My Mind's Eye "Abbey Road" brads
Punch: FISKARS Apron Edge punch

With the sun finally out I had a hard time finding the right combination of light to get a good photo, so it is a little dark..the other option was knock your socks of bright!!!

I just love all the cute little designs on this line from TPC Studios, so making a card with them is super easy.  The designs on the paper are small which lends itself to card crafting ease.  The little birdies on a cloud were another easy choice and I hand cut one out to pop-dot up for my brad sentiment.

Get crafty today people...its a great day to make something.....as long as a batch of brownies is going in the oven at the same time.  That is multi tasking at it's best :)
