OK, this is TOTALLY F U N!! You HAVE got to TRY THIS. All the papers from Graphic45 ROCK...so that is easy, just buy them all. Everything Tim Holtz is a must have too, so just start there....lol

I have had this little wooden birdhouse sitting around for a while (someone gave it to me) and I have been wanting to get it decorated but was never sure how I wanted to start. With the arrival of the Graphic45 papers, I had my answer! I inked the chipboard bird and twig just by rubbing the ink from the pad onto the chipboard. After it dried a bit i stuck my brads and photo turn on the bird to make the "wing" and then went to town with the GLOSSY ACCENTS!. Cutting the paper to fit on the birdhouse was not easy, but with a little tweaking it worked out pretty well. It used very little paper actually. I cut each domino from the sheet and then distressed each edge with the distress tool to give it a more authentic "roof tile" look (at least at my house anyway!). I thought that was pretty clever myself! I distressed the adage tag and journaling tag with the "Vintage Photo" ink after I crumpled them up and flattened them out again. Paper was attached to the wood with the Beacons 3-in-1 glue as well as all the other items. That glue is perfect for this project.

I have to do this again...now to find some more little houses!!!

I used another piece of leftover paper..this time a yellow polka dot piece with little bits of other colors on it. I used my sewing machine to put the little holes in the outside edge of the background sheet and the red piece. Since I am a HORRIBLE sewing machine user (like I don't know how to put thread in it!) I just use my pen to fill in the "lines". I used a red pen for these lines to match my papers. The Stickles are in the middles of the butterflies.

Playing with more scraps again! I had some larger pieces of more My Mind's Eye dot paper to use and it matched another piece of My Mind's Eye paper that I had....so, a card is born.

The bottom layer of the card base is embossed with the herringbone folder to add a nice depth to the background. Check it out in person and you'll see what I mean. Most of it gets covered by the next layer, so cutting out the middle of that piece to use later is a good idea. That strip of paper with the white edge is actually the border strip from the piece of paper (that chunk you cut off and throw away). I embossed it with "organic flourish" border from Cuttlebug. It is a great way to use those "throw away" pieces.

Matchbook Style

I decided to give a matchbook style card a try. This fold is pretty easy to do. I just cut a piece of paper to measure 5 1/2"x 9 3/4". I made one fold at 3", one at 7 1/2" and the last at 8 3/4". That last short fold is the one that gets the punching from the border punch.

Pop-Dots

I know this is going to be difficult to follow on the folds, but give it a go. Once you have the folding done, it is all a matter of embossing and layering the pieces on. I used flower brads to hold the folded short edge down so that the top of the card can tuck into it. The paper ribbon is created from a piece of leftover paper with a few folds in the ends and the medallion set on top. I curled up the edges of the ribbon to give it a more authentic "ribbon" feel. I used a matching piece of paper for the back of the card to cover the ends of the brads.

I used the "Journaling Card" embossing folder for the inside of the card just for a fun and different effect.

The pattern on the background paper is mostly yellow with little swishes and dots of red, so with that starter for my card, I just had to dig out my Tim inks! I just started layering the colors and the stamps into this design, pretty simple really...those stamps are awesome!!! I added the Time Flies stamp in black to make it stand out from the inked background. I added a bit more ink to the base with my foam squares for a little more color detail.

I think if you get out a set of stamps and start playing you will love the results...so get busy and start crafting....take a little stress out of your life.

A quick winter card

I took a few circles and some snowflakes to create a cute little card for the winter months.....not that I am looking forward to them! I just love the snowflakes from Spellbinders and had to use them! I spritzed some Glimmer Mist on the flakes when they were cut out and waited for them to dry. They curled a bit on their own while drying out, so i left that the way it was....it gives them a little dimension on the card front.

I used leftovers from a previous card to make this little Celebrate card. It is a little wild, but, it is time to celebrate the return to school for the year (for me anyway). Simple little squares laid out quilt style makes an easy matching card. The wild colors were just to match my mood!

Let it snow

Ok, maybe not, but these past few mornings have been a bit on the chilly side and thinking about winter wasn't out of the question. But, I will take my snow in paper form for now thank you!

Just a simple layered card. I made the snowflake pop by cutting out a snowflake from fun foam (that foam we all used for making kids projects and have a ton of it lying around) and then the paper to go on top. The foam goes through the Cuttlebug like a dream! then it was a matter of embossing the edges, inking them in with my Cut N Dry foam (totally different foam) and POOF, I have a card.

Just s note, the paper I used is a woodsy looking paper, but the backside has this pretty aqua dot that I thought would work wonderfully as a backdrop for my snowflake. Looking at the other side I would not have thought of using it as a winter paper...but, you gotta see things from a different view sometimes.
