Birthday's are good for you...

I wanted to try a different version of embossing with the NESTIES

Materials:
Paper: WorldWin cardstock
Basic Grey "Crepe" from Cupcake line
NESTABILITIES: Sunflower Set 2, Circle Classic, Labels Trio and Tag Trio,
Stamp: Inkadinkadoo Clear Mini's
Corner rounder punch
Ribbon: Offray
CUTTLEBUG: Flower #1

I started with a circle cut with the NESTIES using the CUTTLEBUG.  Then I put my sunflower die under the paper circle, the rubber mat, my shim (if you have the DREAMWEAVERS mat you don't need the shim) and my B plate.  This is all put on the B plate to start with.

So...the recipe for embossing is...
B PLATE
NESTIES DIE: rough side up (you can tape in place with removable tape if you want to make sure it doesn't move on you)
Paper you are embossing
Rubber mat (plus shim if you have the thin mat, none if you have the DREAMWEAVERS one)
B PLATE

Roll through and you have your embossed image!

For the tag in the slot, I rounder the corners of the tag with my corner rounder, and then punched out the flower from the CUTTLEBUG "Flower #1" set.  I put that in place on the top of the tag and then punched my hole through the two pieces.  Slide the ribbon through, stamp your sentiment and you are set.

Ribbon butterfly

I was working with some pastel colors this time and created this little card.

Materials:
Paper: WorldWin cardstock and Bo-Bunny
Punch: Martha Stewart
CUTTLEBUG: "Bird's & Swirls" embossing A2, "Border Frills" embosser and "With Love" border embossers.
NESTABILITIES: Circle and Circle Scallop sets
Ribbon: Bo-Bunny (dot) and May Arts (butterfly)

I cut the butterfly from the sheer ribbon and adhered it to the circle in the center. The pearl comes with the butterfly on the ribbon.  You could stamp a nice sentiment on the outside for Easter, Spring, a sympathy card or a birthday.

HAPPY CRAFTING!

Cross card

Another card with just some CUTTLEBUGin' and some cardstock.

Materials:
Paper: WorldWin and Paper Cut cardstock
Cuttlebug "Vintage" dies and  "Just My Type" embossing border set

I cut out the decorative squares from the Vintage dies set and lined them up on the card face in the shape of a cross.  After mounting to the card face, I embossed the edges for additional dimension.  The cream on cream gives it an almost embossed look.

Happy crafting!

Happy Easter

To my followers....Thanks for all the fabulous compliments and comments on the blog posts here....it makes a girl feel good.
A little early for an Easter post, but those holiday's sneak  up on you pretty fast.

Materials:
Paper:
WorldWin cardstock
Chatterbox (double sided....and more leftovers from yesterday's card.....it goes a LONG way..)
Ribbon: Offray
Punch: Martha Stewart
CUTTLEBUG: "Swiss Dot" A2 embosser folder

The "Happy Easter" words were hand written with a black Micron .05  marker.
Of course, this design will work for any patterned papers and any season....or a "just a note" card.  I just love using up scraps.....and if that doesn't work...I always have DOGGIE Bags to fill!

Birthdays are good for you...

Scraps, scraps, scraps.....I love using up scraps in my card projects.  These little leftovers are from a card set I did a while ago, so everything that was coordinated for it made it a snap to make this card...quick and easy.  All I added was a stamp sentiment and some felt flowers to make it different from the original cards.

Materials:
Paper:
WorldWin Doublemates
Chatterbox patterned paper
WorldWin cardstock
CUTTLEBUG "Just My Type" border embosser
NESTABILITIES Long Rectangle Large
HERO ARTS felt flowers
Ink
INKADINKADOO Mini Clears stamp set "Birthdays are..."

Gotta love the edge you get from the Doublemates when you tear the paper....almost as awesome as the COREDINATIONS papers.

Have a crafty day!

Wedding wonderful

It was hard to take a photo of this so that it would show the difference between the metallic and the flat white cardstock.  I think I accomplished it.....if not, stop by the store to see it in person.

I have seen this stacked cake done on several birthday cards and decided that a wedding cake would be awesome if it was CUTTLEBUGged ....and what card isn't more awesome when run through the bug??

MATERIALS:
Paper:
WorldWin Cardstock (white)
Paper Cut metallic white cardstock
CUTTLEBUG: "Swiss Dots" and "Wedding" embossing folders and "Vintage Corners" cutting die.
PRIMA flowers (from the jars)
KAISER KRAFT pearls
Martha Stewart border punch

Ok, so you need details.....The card itself is regular cardstock, along with the cake layers.  The face of the card is the metallic as well as the fancy corners.  To get the couple embossed on the top of the front of the card I slit a hole in the middle of the metallic piece and slid the folder onto it.  The slit is covered by the cake layers and then the whole thing is mounted on the card base...so nobody knows how you did it!!!  The frosting layers are just mounted on the tops of the cake layers but look like they are raised up...this is because of the Swiss Dot embossing on the cake parts.  The flowers were added to the cake layers...of course, any color or other object will look awesome there.  A pearl was added to the centers to round out the whole look.

With the "Bells" from the "WEDDING" set you could easily make this a wedding shower invitation.

Metallic Make a WISH

I love putting the metallic papers through the CUTTLEBUG.  Metallic cardstock or text weight paper works equally well, depending on where you are putting the paper.
The cute star cluster from a TAPESTRY set make a nice addition to the edge of the card.

Materials:
Paper:
Paper Cut White Felt paper
Paper Cut metallic Blue
Stamps: TAPESTRY
CUTTLEBUG: "With Love" border and "Birthday Wishes" cut/emboss set.
Ribbon: Offray
Ink

Double cuttle.....

I have been seeing a lot of double CUTTLEing on the blogs lately so I gave it a try.  It is an interesting technique and pretty darn easy too.
Since I have a HUGE collection of CUTTLEBUG embossers, the hard part was choosing which ones to double up!

Hopefully you can see that I chose the Swiss Dot and the Bloom Dots folders for the double "cuttle".  I put the top piece through with the swiss dots and then repeated the process with the bloom dots folder.  I can see doubling up the swiss dots with several other sets I have.

Materials:
Paper:
WorldWin cardstock
CUTTLEBUG:
Swiss Dots embosser
Bloom Dots embosser
Friends Forever cut and emboss set
NESTABILTIES:
Scallop Circle Large
Sunflower set 2
Ribbon: Offray

Gift bag

NESTABILITIES are so versatile for many applications.  They are not just for layering and cards!!

I was playing with my NESTIES and created this little gift bag which measures 3X7.  Just big enough for a gift card, seed packets for a gardener or some candy.

Materials:
Paper: WorldWin cardstock (for the tag)
My Minds Eye patterned paper (double sided and VERY thick)
Ribbon
Stamps: HERO ARTS ("a gift for you" from the Christmas set) and Inkadinkadoo Mini Clears "Birthday's are" set
CUTTLEBUG "Best Friends" embossing set and "Tiny Tags" die set
Ink
Spellbinders NESTABILITES: Large Rectangle Scallop, Large Rectangle and Tag Trio (for the "handle")

If you want more info on the bag creation I will be having a class featuring this bag and a card to match at an upcoming date.  Stay tuned to the regular blog and store website for more details on that, or stop by the store.

HAPPY CRAFTING!!

Happy VALENTINES Day!

Bet you thought I forgot all about the holiday.....nope, just a little late in posting my card.

This one is for hubby....so I couldn't do too much flowery stuff....but I got a few in there.

Materials:
Paper:
Pebbles Inc. "Basics Red Flower/Dot" patterned paper
WorldWin cardstock
Ribbon: Velvet Ric Rac
Brads: Spare Parts
Flowers: Prima "Got Flowers" jars
CUTTLEBUG: Concentric Heart die

Bling with a salty rim

Merging my favorite things together...bling and margaritas.....what a combo.

Since I happen to LOVE this saying....and the occasional margarita.....I quick whipped up this card.

Materials:
Paper: WorldWin cardstock
Wild Asparagus "Brother" dot/blue patterned paper
HERO ARTS gems
Stamps: A*Muse
Ink: Judith Black
NESTABILTIES: Classic Square

I finally used the inside of the NESTABILTIES to so a little stenciling and I like the result.  If you leave the cut piece of paper in the die and use a sponge to apply some ink to the edge of the die you get a subtle coloring to the inside of the shape leaving the edges where the die covered clean. I did use a marker to color the edge of the lime too.

Happy crafting!

Stepping out of my comfort zone....

I don't usually work with the TAPESTRY stamps, but with so many of them available at the store, I had to give some a try.  What is a card without some CUTTLEBUGin' ?

Materials:
Paper: WorldWin Cardstock "White"
CUTTLEBUG: "Swiss Dots" embosser and "Best Friends" embossing set
Tapestry Stamp set: "Berries and Buds Wreath"
Ribbon Daisy Bucket Paper ribbon
Mesh ribbon
NESTABILITIES: Labels Two
Inks
Pop Dots (to raise the middle cut)

This looks a little brighter in person...but you'd just have to stop by the store to see that....

Monochromatic mania

I love the look of a monochromatic scheme.
I was playing with my NESTIES collection.....really!......and just started cutting everything I could out of white cardstock to see what I could come up with for a finished project.

Like the result?  I do.  If you want to learn a bit more about the NESTABILTIES and the CUTTLEBUG we will be doing a Workshop in a few weeks featuring this card and another one.  Details to come.

Materials:
Paper: WorldWin Cardstock: all white
NESTABILITIES: Sunflower Two, Standard Circle, Nested Birds and Scallop Circle Large
CUTTLEBUG: "Vintage" dies and "Birds and Swirls" embosser

Sending LOVE

I love these little metal mailbox tins from  Provo Craft.  What a cute way to make a treat box for the kids for Valentines Day (or whomever you might want to tuck a treat away for).
Materials:
Tin: Provo Craft
Paper: Bo-Bunny (double sided)
WorldWin cardstock
CUTTLEBUG dies and embossers "Two-Step Heart #1" and "Decorative Hearts"
Ribbon

I went simple with this one because the papers have such a cute design.  I can see putting a tag with a persons name on it in the ribbon bow or somewhere.  The tin is big enough to put about a pound of candy in it too....if you were wondering....I know this first hand.....shhhh.

Can't STOP my heart

Ok, it's a little CORNY (to say the least) for a BLOG title, but I have to come  up with something different every now and then!

Materials:
Paper:
WorldWin cardstock
Paper Cuts Cardstock
Pebbles Inc. "Basics Red Flower/Dot"
Punch: Martha Stewart
Spellbinders NESTABILITIES: Octagon and Doodle Parts
CUTTLEBUG Concentric Heart die
Queen and Co Rhinestones
Pop-dots
Eyelets: Making Memories

I used a paper piercer to punch the tiny holes around the octagon shape on the front, if you can see them, and had a good time layering a bunch of different pieces to this card.  I even did a little layering and punching on the inside of the card, but you have to stop by the store in person to see that!!

Don't forget.....VALENTINES DAY is this SATURDAY!

GREEN cards

In an attempt to be "green" and reuse some things around the house, I crafted this card.  Don't you love being able to use up "garbage" in a positive and creative way?
Talk about economical too!!  Leftover papers from a previous project, half a sheet of 8x11 cardstock and a little bling.

Materials:
Paper: WorldWin cardstock and October Afternoon patterned paper (double sided)
CUTTLEBUG "Congrats" set
Bling: Kaiser Kraft
Punch: Martha Stewart Doily Scallop

...and a piece of plastic packaging from my latest NESTABILITIES die (ahem...which is featured as the center of the window!!)
NESTABILITIES Inverted Scallop Circle Large

Get out that stash of stamps, CUTTLEBUG folders and embossers and other tools you invested in and get creating. A handmade card is beautiful and from the heart....and you can do a little recycling while you're at it!!

Sticker Sheet cards by Leann

One sheet of sticks can make a whole bunch of great cards.

Our fabulously crafty boss, Leann, was busy making this collection of cards for Valentines Day with one sheet of stickers, one piece of patterned paper and plain cardstock.  She was so nice to let me share them on the crafty blog with all of you....because I have been lazy at posting this week....shame, shame on me!

You can't see the shimmer in these stickers, but they add some sparkle to the card.

There was plenty of stickers left on this sheet to create many more cards.

Materials:
Paper: WorldWin cardstocks and Making Memories patterned paper
CUTTLEBUG embossers
Reminisce Stickers
May Arts ribbon
Making Memories Brads
Punches: Treading Water by FISKARS and Martha Stewart Doily scallop
NESTABILITIES
Kaiser Kraft Pearls
