Something old and something new

Isn't that what we all want to do? Use our older papers and embellies with the new stuff we just found at the store (and couldn't resist buying...lol) to make the perfect layout.
Well, I was a busy bee this weekend at a crop with friends and I was determined to use some of my older stash with my newer goodies.  Not everything you see above is available at the store, but you might just have some in your current stash.

I have always loved the acrylic letters and shapes.  Heidi Swapp and Making Memories had great acrylics!  I think I bought some of those letters over 3 years ago....but, they still look great.

Materials:
Paper:
October Afternoon "Crunching Leaves" and HOMETOWN "Journaling Cards"
Cosmo Crickets "Mr Campy" line (the leaves)
And The Paper Company (not sure, this was a scrap of old paper with the label cut off)
Acrylic letters from Heidi Swapp and Making Memories
Brads: Making Memories
Fabric Label: Junkitz (I actually got it straight from Teresa Collins....who is the TERESA COLLINS of Teresa Collins Designs!! but WAYYYYYY back when, she was working for Junkitz)
Metal/Epoxy tab: some more leftovers I found in my big bag of goodies...also old and not to be found at Picture This.

Ok, so I didn't journal on my journaling card, but I usually don't put that info on the blog (plus I might just put the year of the trip in the space instead)...we'll see, I have to check out my supplies for more things I can put on there....

So, get out your old stash and find some of those little things you forgot about.

Bittersweet cards part 3

Can't help it...love this paper.....any Basic Grey really...lol

Materials:
Papers: WorldWin Cardstock and Basic Grey "Bittersweet" Raspberry Cream and Mousse
Ribbon: Offray
NESTABILITIES: Label One die
Ink
Punch: Fiskars SQUEEZE Punch corner rounder

First I folded my card base and cut the corners with the corner rounder (but on the  top and bottom of the opening) and then I cut my patterned paper (Raspberry Cream) to fit on the base with a little dark pink showing all the way around. I cut the light pink paper with the Label One die from NESTABILTIES.  I offset it a bit so that the whole image wasn't cut.  Then I embossed the edges in the NESTIE die for the added depth.  Then I placed the CUTTLEBUG die on the very edge of the bottom right corner and rolled it through.  After I was finished with my embossing and cutting I inked up the edges with a matching ink color, just around the edges and the embossing heart. I adhered this to the patterned piece and then added the ribbon and adhered all to the dark pink card base.  TO get the patterned piece in the center of the embossed heart I embossed the "Mousse" patterned paper and then hand cut it out and adhered it to the center.

Again, a nice sentiment in the upper right corner would be great, but we have new stamps at the store and I just need to pick something perfect!!
